Zustand: Das Gerät gehörte einem britischen Mission-Sammler, war ein Teil der Zweitsystem und wurde selten benutzt. Technisch: Absoluter Top-Zustand. Der CD-Player wurde vor kurzem fachmännisch revidiert und sehr aufwändig modifiziert (Gesamtaufwand: ca. 35 Arbeitsstunden): • Die CD-Schublade wurde komplett gereinigt und geschmiert, der Antiebsmotor wurde durch einen Mutsumi-Motor ersetzt, der Anbriebsriemen wurde erneuert. Die Schublade ist fast unhörbar im Betrieb. • Das CD-Laufwerk und der Laser wurden gereinigt und neu eingestellt. Die CD-Spindel wurde mit dünnflüssigem Silikonöll geölt. Das Laufwerk wurde mit Dämmungsmatten gegen akustischen und mechanischen Vibrationen geschützt. Alle Elkos auf der Laufwerk-Platine wurden durch hochwertige vom Typ Nichicon FW und FG (Fine Gold) ersetzt. • Im Netzteil wurden alle Elkos durch hochwertige vom Typ Nichicon FW unf FG ersetzt. Die Sieb-Elkos wurden mit Folien-Filterkondensatoren überbrückt. Die kalten Lötstellen wurden nachgelötet. • Alle Elkos auf der Display-Platine wurden durch hochwertige vom Typ Nichicon FW ersetzt. • Im Digitalbereich wurden alle Elkos durch hochwertige vom Typ Nichicon FW und FG ersetzt. • Im Analogbereich wurden alle Elkos durch audiophile vom Typ Nichicon Fine Gold (FG) ersetzt. Um Jitter zu reduzieren, wurde der Quarzoszillator durch einen hochpräzisen Master-Clock ersetzt. • Digital-Filter und Oversampling. Die TDA1540 D/A Wandler wurden in den non-Oversampling Modus versetzt. Der Digital-Filter-Chip (SAA7030) wurde durch einen hochwertigen NOS-Adapter von nanocamp ersetzt. Ich gebe den entfernten Chip mit, wenn gewünscht, kann man das Oversampling innerhalb von wenigen Minuten wieder aktivieren. • Die Filter-Kondensatoren für D/A Wandler wurden (ähnlich wie bei den ARCAM Alpha, Marantz und NAIM CD-Player) durch Folienkondensatoren mit größeren Kapazitäten ersetzt. Diese Modifikation ist ein Muss, sie trägt enorm für die Verbesserung der Dynamik und der Basswiedergabe bei. • In den Ausgangsstufen wurden die Operationsverstärker durch vielgelobte OPA 627 von Burr & Brown im Doppelpack ersetzt, die Koppel-Elkos wurden durch audiophile vom Typ Nichicon MUSE ES BP ersetzt. • In den zusätzlichen Mission-Ausgangsstufen wurden Operationsverstärker ebenfalls durch audiophile Burr & Brown OPA 627 ersetzt, die Koppel-Elkos wurden ebenfalls durch Nichicon MUSE ES BP ersetzt. • Die Audio-Anschlüsse. Das Gerät hat premium Cinch-Buchsen erhalten. • Die Stromversorgung. Auf der Rückseite wurde eine hochwertige IEC C14-Kaltgerätebuchse von Furutech montiert. Der Netztrafo wurde von 220 V auf 240 V umgeschaltet. • Ober- und Unterdeckel wurden zusätlich gegen Schwingungen gedämpft. • Um die Schwingungsdämpfung weiter zu verbessern, haben die Gerätefüße hochwertige Gummi-Auflagen erhalten. Das Tuning hat sich sehr gelohnt, nach den Modifikationen klingt der Philips viel lebendiger, luftiger, wärmer, jetzt kann er in Sachen Basswiedergabe und Dynamik mit meinem Philips CD880 mithalten... Das Laufwerk und der Laser sind im einem absoluten Top-Zustand, die CDs und CD-Rs werden sehr schnell (2-3 Sekunden) erkannt und absolut einwandfrei abgespielt. Das Laufwerk ist unhörbar im Betrieb. Optisch: Top Zustand. Die Frontplatte hat nur wenige Gebrauchsspuren. Der Gehäusedeckel und die hinteren Kanten der Frontplatte haben ein paar leichte Kratzer und Verfärbungen. Was wird mitgeliefert: • Original-Fernbedienung (fast neuwertig). • Transportschrauben. • SAA7030, Digital-Filter-Chip (um das Oversampling bei Bedarf zu reaktivieren). • Hochwertiges Netzkabel vom Typ Lapp Ölflex mit massiven vergoldeten IEC C13-Kaltgerätestrecker und Schutzkontaktstecker. • Hochwertiges Audiokabel. Der Mission wurde mit einem unglaublichen Aufwand hergestellt. Sein CDM-1 Dreharm-Laufwerk (komplett aus Metall) sieht und arbeitet wie ein Schweizer Chronograph. Die voluminöse Lasereinheit wirkt im Vergleich mit modernen Lasereinheiten wie eine Kanone gegen eine Pistole. Das gleiche gilt für die CD-Lade, die kein Stück Plastik (!) enthält. Alle Bauelemente sind Made by Philips in Europa, das Gerät hat ca. 25 Chips (alle von Philips) einen der besten D/A Wandler, einen riesigen Trafo und 5 separat geregelten Netzteilen. Die Elektronik befindet sich auf zwei Platinen die sauber in einem stabilen Druckgussrahmen montiert sind. Wenn man heute noch erhältliche Exemplare CD-Player mit der Philips-Technik betrachtet, funktionieren die meisten immer noch einwandfrei, eventuell defekte Player lassen sich ohne großen Aufwand reparieren. Condition: The unit belonged to a british Mission collector, was always part of the second system and was used rarely. Technical: Perfect working condition. The CD player was recently professionally serviced and highly modified (total efforts: about 35 man-hours): • The CD tray was completely cleaned and lubricated, the drive motor was replaced with a Mutsumi one, the drive belt was renewed. The tray is almost inaudible in operation; • The CD drive and the laser were cleaned and adjusted. The CD spindle was lubricated with low-viscosity silicone oil. The CD-drive was protected with insulation mats against acoustic and mechanical vibrations. All the caps on the drive board were replaced through high-quality Nichicon FW and FG (Fine Gold) caps; • The power supply obtained all new premium Nichicon FW and FG electrolytic capacitors. All the smoothing el. caps, were additionally bridged with film caps. Solder joints were checked, cold joints were re-soldered; • All the electrolytic capacitors on the display board were replaced by premium Nichicon FW caps; • All the electrolytic capacitors in the digital section were replaced by premium Nichicon FW and FG caps; • All the electrolytic capacitors in the analog section were replaced by audiophile Nichicon Fine Gold (FG) caps. To reduce jitter, the crystal oscillator was replaced with a high-precision master clock; • Digital filtering and oversampling: The TDA1540 D/A converters were switched into the non-oversampling mode. Welcome to my listing for my rare Mission DAD5 CD player. This unit is in full working order and sounds very nice indeed, with the venerable SAA7321GP Bitstream DAC onboard. The transport is the legendary Philips Swing Arm CDM-4/19 unit, which is known for its reliability and stability. The sound quality from this Mission is very smooth and refined, with very good imaging and a wide, expansive soundstage. It reads and navigates discs quickly and quietly. Cosmetically this CD player is also in very good condition overall. The only issues are the labels have worn off the play and pause buttons on the right hand side. The play button is also a bit wobbly but it still working and functions as it should. This is reflected in the lower price. Please inspect the photographs to see details. Im quite sure this would be a very easy fix. There are a few light marks on the top panel but you wont be disappointed with the sound quality or build quality of this rare Mission CD player.
