This is the first 12 inches long tonearm manufactured by Micro seiki, model MA-88L, it is long version of MA-77L tonearm. Perfect condition with original box, cable and original headshell. There are 2 type of coundter weight, side balanced one and self balanced counter weight. This item included self balanced counter weight. Tonearm specification: The rotation mechanism uses micro-sized ball bearings in both vertical and lateral directions. A light alloy pipe is used for the pipe part. Furthermore, the strength of the pipe itself and the method of coupling with other parts have been studied, and the use of appropriate rubber dampers has eliminated harmful resonance that impairs sound quality and records. It is a static balance type with high stability, and by adopting a stylus pressure application system with a simple and reliable sub-weight, troubles due to complication of the mechanism are prevented. The lateral balance can be adjusted wby using the eccentric main weight. Rotating the main weight changes the center of gravity of the arm. Adjustment of stylus pressure is a direct reading system, and a linear scale allows critical adjustment without a stylus pressure gauge. Since the output is taken out with a plug-in connector, work such as lead wire soldering is unnecessary. In addition, 0.05? combination single wire is used for the lead wire passing through the inside of the arm considering the influence on the rotational sensitivity. The head shell uses a lightweight type. Comes with a mechanism for inside force cancellation. The arm parallelism gauge is carried. When adjusting the height of the arm, you can see at a glance whether it is parallel to the turntable surface. Regarding the cancellation of the inside force, in order to reduce the trouble, a mechanism (bias cursor, bias weight) is added to improve the movement and characteristics of the arm by applying a force (outside force) that moves the arm in the outer peripheral direction in advance. Lock the main weights in this position and slide the side weights forward according to the scale to the desired position.
