Micro Seiki has acquired a great reputation over the years for its high-quality turntables, and this BL-10X is no exception. Unlike many Japanese turntables of the era, the BL-10X operates with a belt-drive system. It has some excellent features, such as hydro-based special aluminum with great acoustic characteristics, cast carefully at low pressure to enhance the quality of the material. Further innovations to reduce resonances and vibrations include a proprietary oil-suspension system which isolates the main rotating assembly from vibration. The belt-drive system features a carbon compound urethane designed to avoid degradation over time. It is a highly precise unit, with a solid build quality, which includes special alloy bearings which were polished to the same degree of precision used for aircraft jet engines. The BL-10X is a superb turntable with exceptional mechanical engineering and incredible sound.
