These are the so-called Micro Seiki Micro Monitor MX-1 Headphones. I originally owned the Audio Technica ATH-7 electret headphones which were very good but when I heard a pair of these at a colleagues house I knew I just had to own a pair. I have owned these from new and they were serviced just before the covid shutdown and they sound very good. The sale includes both the MS-2 headphones which are very comfortable and also of course the MP-1 driver unit. Micro Seiki are best known for their turntables indeed I own one of them and so when they decided that they needed a setof headphones in their lineup they went to the market leader, Stax. The headset seems to be loosly based on the SR-X while the driver unit is a close variant of the SRD-7 Energiser. Having owned the the Stax SR-X, amongst other models these MS2s have a somewhat improved power-handling and an improved clarity across the entire bandwidth they are alsolighter and more comfortableon the head. The MP-1 works with a 9V battery that will last about 2000 hours in use. If you have any further questions or require additional images just contact me through the ebay messaging system.

recently refurbished electrostatic cans of the highest order, with a new diaphragm.  Unlike stax models, these had the original diaphragm in polyurethane, which by now is almost certainly on the way out if not already falling apart. this pair are likely to last and hold their charge for years to come. of course, they need the matching energiser MX-1. these are, in my humble view, better of all the low bias stax (I have tried a few). they were in fact made by stax for micro seiki in exchange of stax-rebadged, micro-made tonearms. the mids and highs are superlative, they lack a tad on lower frequencies as all electrostatics do. we're far off from beats territory, but you can figure that yourself. sublime with classical/jazz/vocals. wearability & comfort & lightness trump all six-pin stax counterparts, to say nothing of the looks: effortlessly cool and reminiscent of the seminal beyerdynamics DT48 (only, they sound a million times better with the proper amplifier). I have another pair and these are my daily driver. you just forget you’re wearing them. simply unputdowneable, like a good novel. no offers thank you, I will take the asking price thanks for looking at my other audio items and no, stand is sadly not included
