Bei diesem GyroDec handelt es sich um die ursprüngliche Version. Beim Testen des Plattenspielers haben wir festgestellt, dass der Riemen ausgeleiert und nicht mehr brauchbar ist. Der Motor läuft jedoch normal. Wir haben festgestellt, dass die Aufhängungsfedern des Subchassis ausgeleiert/verzogen sind, sodass das Subchassis an der Motordose anliegt und reibt (siehe Detailfoto). Eine Funktionsprüfung des Tonarms haben wir nicht durchgeführt, einer der vier Connectoren am Headshell ist abgerissen. Die dünnen Tonarmkabeln scheinen brüchig zu sein (siehe Detailfoto). Am externen Netzteil fehlt ein Gummifuß (siehe Detailfoto). Wir legen Scharniere für die Acrylglashaube bei, es fehlen jedoch die vier Befestigungsschrauben zur Montage am Acrylchassis des Plattenspielers. Optisch zeigt der GyroDec insgesamt kleinere Gebrauchsspuren sowie deutliche Spuren auf der linken Seite der Antriebseinheit. Der Tonarm ist optisch schön erhalten. This GyroDec is the original version. When testing the record player, we found that the belt was worn out and no longer usable. The motor, however, runs normally. We found that the suspension springs of the sub-chassis were worn out/warped, so that the sub-chassis was resting on the motor housing and rubbing (see detailed photo). We did not carry out a functional test of the tonearm; one of the four connectors on the headshell has broken off. The thin tonearm cables appear to be brittle (see detailed photo). A rubber foot is missing from the external power supply (see detailed photo). We are including hinges for the acrylic glass cover, but the four fastening screws for mounting it on the acrylic chassis of the record player are missing. Visually, the GyroDec shows minor signs of wear and tear as well as clear marks on the left side of the drive unit. The tonearm is in good condition. This is a Michell Engineering Gyrodec SE Turntable in black with a Rega RB-303 tonearm. Works perfectly. Cartridge and lighted base not included. Michell Gyrodek 3 Speed Turntable Motor & Controller (Parts Only) I acquired a Michell Gyrodek turntable a couple of years ago, and the motor wouldnt run. So I sent the motor and controller to Michell Engineering, and this is what they came up with: The motor was seized. This has been serviced and it is now running freely. We reset the power supply voltages, but there appears to be an issue with the frequency output of the power supply. It runs slightly slow on 33rpm but then slows down further when you select 45rpm. Trichord tested the circuit board and found no fault. We reinstalled the board into the power supply and checked the output voltages, but the fault remains - the motor runs slow (and slower on 45 than 33). Weve serviced the motor and it runs free, however I can only assume there is an issue with it internally. This is not a guarantee that the problem lies with the motor, but it has gotten to the point where it’s now costing too much to keep looking at it. So I purchased a new motor and controller and now have these old parts left over. The circuit board is good, the output voltage checks out and the motor spins freely, but its not running up to speed. The GyroDec is one of the most iconic turntable out there. It is immediately recognizable with their weighted pendulum styled sub chassis and three point spring suspension system on top of a large black acrylic plinth. Arm is a Rega RB300 and just needs a new cartridge and you are ready to boogie. Overall, turntable looks good with the usual scuff marks common with gloss black acrylic surfaces.
