Rich who took over for Bobby and he said the x series has a thicker wood for the baffle and has the piano lacquer that Merlin sent out to a high grade automotive paint shop who did all the painting on the Merlins. He told me these were 2800 in the flat finish and 3800 in this finish which is the X after Tsm. These are also listed on usaudiomart for a lot less and more photos if you want to go there. These offer superb transparency. These have the cardas screw in connectors and hovland resistors. If youre looking at these they you know what they are. They have a large cult following.
