Up for your consideration is a Mcintosh MX120 Pre Amplifier. Device is from the estate of a local avid ham radio operator who also collected some Hifi. Physical condition is fantastic ! What you see in the glass are reflections. Unit was still connected when I acquired it however, we were unable to locate the remote. Given the physical condition and circumstances up on how it was acquired., I just assumed the preamp worked. However I test to the best of my ability everything I sell and when I teste this I could not get any sound out of it to the amp. Now I dont know if I am doing something wrong or there is a setting on the remote or it just is not working but again I could not get sound to pass thru it. That being said device is offered 100% a is. I will not accept any returns for any reason whatsoever. I have been on Ebay since 98 and therefore I have seen every con game in the world. The MX-120 is an unusual piece in that, at first glance, its designed as a two-channel preamp with home theater added in as a bonus. I say this as the MX-120 has single ended 7.1 channel preamp outputs while offering balanced outputs for the front three speakers. One balanced stereo input is there as well as six analog inputs, including a MM phono input. There are three coaxial and optical inputs and one each for output. Six composite and S-Video inputs, three component and four HDMI (video only) inputs are there with three S-Video and composite, one component and HDMI output, and all signals are transcoded up to HDMI. A tape recorder loop completes the inputs. RS-232 and IR control ports as well as McIntoshs proprietary amplifier connection finish off the connectivity. The MX-120 is capable of handling eight inputs, and all inputs are assignable and re-nameable. The user can preset surround formats and bass and treble levels for each input and for Zone A these will be remembered until they are changed. I am preparing this listing on behalf of my aunt, as the MX120 originally belonged to my late uncle. He was an RIT-trained audio engineer and purchased the preamp in 2011. He always took great care of his equipment, so it appears to be in excellent to very good condition, although I am not best qualified to assess it. My uncle sent the MX120 for a tune-up in 2021, which resulted in a new power supply, but he passed away before getting it back. So, the device has been sitting unused ever since. McIntosh mx120 home theater processor w/dolby digital, dts-hd and phono input. Processor is in great working condition. We switched to a build-in wall system so no longer need. In my setup I bypassed the video section of this processor as that portion is outdated (does not support 4k) but the audio section is still amazing (both for movies and music). Before the Mx-120, I had a modern Yamaha aventage Rx-a6a and this paired with a McIntosh mc7106 ( separate auction) blew it out of the water.
