My associate had a tech guy jump the relay and the unit turned on. If I get a new relay installed, the price goes up. I have talked to McIntosh and the relay is only $20 with $10 shipping so if youre good at circuit board repairs that could well be your total repair cost. Given that I know that juice isnt even getting to the power transformer, Im pretty confident that its the only fault in the amp. These 92 lb beasts are built like tanks with all kinds of protection features and given their power output capability I doubt this thing ever broke a sweat. Note on Cosmetics: Cosmetic condition of this quite handsome piece of high-end audio gear is certainly several notches above acceptable. There are a couple of micro-nicks in the brushed aluminum side trim which you wont notice except on close inspection. Other ads Ive seen on several venues also disclose such tiny imperfections. Im not an appraiser so I wont offer you a grading on a 10pt scale but you shouldnt have to make any excuses for this in your high-end sound room or on your equipment rack, either alone or as part of a stereo pair. Selling my beloved McIntosh. It was a very very nice time with them. I’ve had them since may 2022 bought from Poland(certificate of warranty available), so you’ll have warranty until may 2025. I love them, but I have to sell because I need the money, and I’ll move in different apartment. Sounds amazing, good old McIntosh sound, it’s NOT lacking detail, it’s just not in your face. It’s bassy yes, that’s exactly the reason every time I turn it on I dance. Because it’s monoblocks, you get that separation and huge soundstage. Currently, I live in Munich(München). Only pick up, and only cash, but if you really need, it can be shipped, and paid by bank transfer or even PayPal, but you’ll have to pay shipping, it’s about 200€.
