McIntosh MC-7270 Amplifier 270w x2 w/factory box - Best Amp its time. The glass... the big blue meters... the sound! Manufactured from 1985 - 1991, this thing is a beast in every sense of the word! Serviced at Audio Classics in New York in April of 2021, this unit is in top operating shape having been calibrated, cleaned, and tested. A receipt from Audio Classics with scope of work and test results will be provided. The amp has a reputation for being rated conservatively and according to the bench test, this particular amp produces 340 watts per channel before clipping. It sounds amazing! Reason for selling is to upgrade to a newer, hybrid tube setup... I know, its an addiction and there should be a 12 step program! I purchased this amp about 5 years ago from the grandson of the original owner. The glass front panel was replaced with a genuine McIntosh panel and is pristine! It does have a couple minor scratches on top and left side that were present before I purchased. None of which takes away from this stunning piece of equipment. I suspect someone struggled with the 82 pound weight when attempting to move it. Please look at the pictures and feel free to ask questions. I want the buyer to be totally happy with this unit. I am also selling a C45 preamp in another auction. This amp will ship in a genuine MC7270 box fastened to a plywood base for safe travel. The boxes McIntosh uses are a feat of engineering in and of themselves and I would caution anyone buying one of these units online to not purchase a heavy piece like this without proper shipping containers. Further, this is a USA model and not a 100v Japan model. Please be aware of the difference.
