I have accumulated hundreds of pieces of audio equipment over the 40 years I serviced and restored. Some are being sold as is and other are being restored by me. In this case by my good friend. These are probably the nicest pieces of McIntosh equipment I have currently have(check out my other listings also, all restored) These are extremely rare, as McIntosh only sold these for about 18 months. They probably did it to try to compete with Heath and Dynaco kits popularity. It seems like the folks who could afford MC equipment werent interested in building kits. According to some sources many of the kits were built by McIntosh and sold as completed units. That said these have an interesting history. One of my good friends had one and I had one. Neither of us wold sell theirs to the other. I came across a gentleman who had new chassiss made and silk screened in the US and obtained a few from him. I gave one to my buddy for his Mackit and he rebuilt his and I waited on mine to find another one. Never did. Fast foreword a few years and I came across a pair of really ugly 30s. I traded them with 2 new chassiss to my buddy for his Mackit. He insisted that I let him rebuild mine so they would match, so another chassis and a month later I had a pair of new Mackits. I used them to biamp a set of JBL L200s for many years(with Carver 350 monoblocks driving the woofers) I have rebuilt the L 200s to L 300 specs and dont use the 30s anymore. Time for them to go to someone who can appreciate and treasure them. They have been completely rebuilt with all new electrolytics and film caps to replace any off value and leaky ones. He matched all the caps in both of these amps. He also rebuilt the bias network and replaced any off value resistors. They feature USA made reproduction chassiss with the correct silk screening. The transformers feature their original finish and the bases match very well. The feature good USA and European tubes and all test good. These are beautiful, they do have a little wear due to use but look like new. All that said, please look at all the pictures carefully and ask any questions you might have, because of the nature of tube equipment and the hassle it is to pack things like these, there will be no returns. Shipping is $124.95- for the pair. The tubes will be labeled as to the correct location and amp and will be shipped separately. This is via FED EX or Fed EX Home. I will not ship this via UPS or USPS.(Tubes will come via priority mail) If it ships for less than that I will refund the excess after packing costs. I do not make money on packing and shipping but I try to break even. As examples, new boxes cost between $3-25 and a large roll of bubble wrap costs $54. Because all the major shipping companies will deny claims for items shipped in used boxes, I use new boxes for expensive and heavy equipment. I also double box any item that has tubes or glass, or is particularly fragile. This adds to the cost, but helps make sure your item arrives to you in the SAME CONDITION it was shipped. Proof of careful packing also facilitates any damage claims. (See below in FEEDBACK for general instructions on what to do if damage occurs during shipping.) If you choose to ship by FED EX, and provided PayPal with a valid email address, you will receive tracking information from FED EX when your item ships, and communications regarding any issues they run into.
