Up for auction is a pair of Mcintosh MC30 amplifiers from the late 1950s / early 1960s. These have been fully electronically restored by Audio Classics in Vestal, NY. The amps are from slightly different series, but are identically electronically and sonically. MC30s are best known for their tube rectification and sound incredible with a wide array of speakers. The chassis are in original condition with some pitting, worn lettering and scuffs along the bottom - but all consistent with age. As you can see the electronic components have been completely updated. These 30WPC amps will come with a nice complement of low-hour vintage tubes. The power tubes are re-issue Sovteks which are a nice mating with these. Everything works. Service was performed less than a year ago and amps have about 25 hours on them since. All paperwork from servicing will be included with purchase. Im selling because I bought an MC225 and dont need all of the amps. The amps are very securely packaged for shipping in two Audio Classics boxes. The amps are bolted down to a piece of plywood and then nested in heavy duty double-boxes with corner reinforcements. I filled the space inside with bubble wrap as an added safety measure. Shipping cost shown includes full insurance and ground shipping via Fed Ex for both amps / boxes.
