McIntosh MX134 Preamp/Surround Sound Processor (orig. $7100). Sort of works but has issues. The Pre-Amp itself is in good physical condition. Glass and exterior are fine. I am the original owner. Comes with remote but for some reason the remote does not work. I have not tried to find out why. The main issue with the Pre-amp is that when you turn it on, it will come on and then turn off. You can turn it on multiple times and on one of the times it will just start working. Not set times just random. Once it starts working it works fine until you turn it off again, Then the whole process starts over. After you do get it working, I have left it on all day playing music and it works fine. I used it with a DVD player to test a few amps just before listing and it worked fine. I seemed to notice if it has been off all night and is cold you have a better chance of it working right off. Here is my detailed description of the issue: When the issue occurs, it comes on in mute first like it should, but then hangs there for up to 30seconds or more, then goes to the normal display but you cannot change anything. If you go to the unit and try and change volume or anything from the dials, it is really slow to change. Spin the volume like 5 times and it might change the volume by one digit. Manually shutting off the power and then powering back on will bring it back but you have to do that anywhere from a few times to 20 times and it starts working. From observations, it’s worse if the unit has been used earlier in the day or is warm from previous use. I’ve learned if that mute display hangs there for anything more than a few seconds, you have the issue. So when working it seems it works fine with the exception of the remote. When not working, turning it off and on multiple times until the it decides to work seems to be the trick. Shipping by Fedex with the shipping to be calculated by the buyers shipping address.
