I have accumulated hundreds of pieces of audio equipment over the 40 years I serviced and restored. Some are being sold as is and other are being restored by me. This is a nice early McIntosh MX 110 tuner/preamp. It is the one with the thumb wheel balance control. Very hard to find. The unit was rebuilt to meet MC specs and then tuner was aligned. Everything works perfectly as a MC should. The cost of the rebuild was $1495. All old parts and the service invoice are included and it will be double boxed. The first box is a Factory McIntosh 110 box supplies by Audio Classic at the additional cost of $160.(what I paid) The condition of this unit is pretty good. There are some pits on the chassis and back is hard to read with weak silk screening. Front panel is good but not perfect. The other thing you need to know is that the face end panels are not factory original. They were made by a friend of mine and are aluminum and wood. They look pretty good, but they are home made. Unit sounds great, Richard M emailed me after he aligned it and said he really thought it was a good unit. All that said, please look at all the pictures carefully and ask any questions you might have, because of the nature of tube equipment and the hassle it is to pack things like there, will be no returns. Shipping is $99.95- This is via FED EX Home. I will not ship this via UPS or USPS. If it ships for less than that I will refund the excess after packing costs. I do not make money on packing and shipping but I try to break even.
