Up for sale a perfect working ML-1 preamp power supply PLS-150 with an upgrade/ toggle switch see pictures. Im not the original owner. It was the original owner that had the preamp power supply modification done. It looks clean and in my opinion is perfect. Preamp is set up to play MM phono section. The ML-1 is completely black anodized with white lacquer-filled engravings, it has a timeless appearance due to a slimline visual footprint and symmetrical control layout. When it was introduced in 1977 it was considered to be the best solid state pre-amp available on the market. Until then it was thought that this sound quality was only possible with tubes. The sound is clean and precise, but at the same time musical and smooth. It clearly outperformed all competing solid-state offerings at that time. The sound quality is rivaled today only by newer and more expensive gear. The phono section is still one of the smoothest regardless of cost. You will not be disappointed with this items performance. This ML-1 Pre-amp, like most of them, requires that it be connected to input/output devices using Lemo-fitted cables. Lemo cables are generally not available in any stores and must be custom ordered from Lemo or one of their distributors (who also fabricate them on a custom basis). These connector cables sell for at least $100 per cable (need L & R for stereo) so $200 for each device to be connected to the pre-amp. Dont be fooled into buying an ML-1 or other high end component that requires Lemo cable unless you already have them or have them ready to order. Otherwise you are buying a nice black brick with no use at all.
