I am the original owner of this fantastic receiver. It’s in flawless condition as you can see in the photos. It includes the original box, packing material, Audyssey microphone, mic stand, manual and all accessories. The only reason I’m selling it is because I upgraded to a Marantz SR8015 for the HDMI 2.1 capability and so that I didn’t need an additional amplifier for my 7.2.4 Atmos system. I have a small theater room and I don’t like it super loud, so this was never driven hard. I watched movies with the volume somewhere between -24 and -18 dB. This receiver has HDMI 2.0a. It can pass 4K SDR and HDR10 signals, but not 4K HDR10+ or Dolby Vision. However, if you only use your TV’s built in apps or you are able to connect all your video sources to your TV, you can use an eARC HDMI connection to feed lossless Dolby Atmos audio to the receiver while letting the TV handle the video switching. Except for having an older version of Audyssey room correction and only two subwoofer outputs instead of four, this receiver is every bit as good as the latest Marantz Cinema Series receivers when it comes to audio. (The comparable Cinema 40 9.4 receiver retails for $3,500.) It has nine built in channels of amplification, which allows you to run a 7.2.2 or 5.2.4 Dolby Atmos system. It also supports processing for up to 11.2 channels (7.2.4) if you connect an external amplifier to add two or more channels. Many people like to connect a higher powered five or seven channel amplifier to power the bed layer speakers while powering the Atmos speakers from the receiver. There are also companies that make three channel amps which would allow you to go with an external amp for the front left, center and right. This receiver can be controlled from the Marantz iPhone/iPad/Android app. There is also a web interface that allows you to control it from any web browser. Either method will give you full access to all settings and functions without needing the on screen display. Perfect if you use your TV for video switching as I suggested above. The remote control was rarely used since I have a Harmony programmable remote. It has no wear. Used mostly as a preamp, so the 9 built-in amplifiers have very low hours and only to drive height speakers .. never pushed anywhere close to its limits.. .. it also has the $200 Auro-3D upgrade ( my favorite upmixer)... Works great..The only issues are the HDMI monitor 1 (arc) doesnt work.. .which never was a problem for me (I still do not use it on my Marantz av8805a processor) being I use media players and a 4k Blu-ray player which in my opinion is far better than the apps on a tv .. and of course, there are many HDMI splitters available to buy online..also, the original remote stopped working, so I ordered an aftermarket remote, which works fine and easily navigates through all the functions.. I later researched how to repair the remote ( used replacement temotes for the sr7010 are selling for $200, which of course is insane and greedy) ) . I was able to get the original remote working ( over time oils,dust debris, and particles get under the rubber pad and can stop the buttons/pads from making good contact and therefore stops the remote from functioning properly. .the only function that does not work on the original remote is the channel up and down button.. which is only a problem if you want to have the remote control your tv , cable orr multimedia player functions.. I will include the aftermarket remote and the original remote.Please take note that the original remote may still have problems ( a YouTube video instructed me to wiggle all the pads/buttons back and forth to clean out debris.. I had no problem operating the remote after, but it may still require more attention .. Everything else is in great working order, and again, I have used the built-in amplifiers minimally.
