Make an offer! Here is a PAIR (2) of Marantz MA500 U Monoblock THX Power Amplifiers. These were both pulled from a working system 3 years ago when more powerful poweramps replaced them. I believe they were checked over or serviced late 2015. However, before listing them here on eBay I powered them up for a final test, and I found that #2 seems to be working perfectly, and something is triggering the relay on #1 whenever the volume gets to a certain level. Listening at quiet to moderate levels, both units sound fine with clear audio -- and they are playing at the same output level. When turning the volume up a bit, I can hear the relay in the #1 unit randomly toggling on and off (which cuts the audio going to the speaker). To be clear:The #2 unit seems to be working perfectly. The #1 unit turns on and plays audio, but the speaker relay randomly cuts in and out if you turn up the volume. I did some quick googling and it sounds like the relay cutting on and off is a common issue with these, and may be an easy fix? I dont have the time to troubleshoot and repair, so I am listing these as-is and describing exactly what I am hearing. Both units are clean and in great physical condition. Id rather sell these as together and keep them as a matched set, but I would be willing to split this listing, so just let me know if you are interested and maybe we can work something out. ONLY 2 amps included -- no other accessories. Because these are vintage pieces of audio gear, I am selling as-is and as shown, and will not be accepting returns unless it is damaged in shipping and doesnt arrive in the condition described and that these pictures show.
