Marantz CD recorder/ CD player CDR510 Tested We are guaranteeing this as a player, but if you are familiar with these older recorders they are fussy about recording media. As a general rule the newer and faster speed blank media have more issues than older media formats such as 4x 8x which the drives were designed for. We tested recording on various discs. In a pack of Memorex like shown, we found a couple that it would show as blank and record OK on, while other blanks would not show as recordable or say disc error. We recorded a couple short segment tracks on one that worked and finalized it and included as a test play disc. We also found the PNY blank disc shown in pictures was recognized as a recordable blank so we included it so you have a blank fresh disc or may want to try more of that type. I also read online that the Verbatim black vinyl digital CDr discs work better on some older recorders, so that may be worth trying? or if you find some particular discs that work well, and you are lucky you can sometimes find a full cake box pack of older 4x or 8x CDrs on ebay cheap. Years ago we used to use Maxell CDr discs on a similar unit and found most worked but sometimes found random CDs in a batch or occasionally whole batches that the unit would not recognize. It was always trial and error even back then. Sooooo. all that to say we will guarantee this to play CDs but as far as recording no guarantees, as these decks are so fussy and perhaps get more fussy with age of recorder and or blank CDs? . A new drive may be more reliable than an older one, but not sure if you can even get them anymore, back in the day Marantz sold them, but not cheap. You may be able to find a computer drive that is compatible??? No remote but you can find on ebay if needed. This unit was church used so only used once a week for a few years before being replaced with digital/online methods. We did also spray air and run a cleaning brush CD in both decks as preventative maint. Tested using the standard RCA outputs.-Left CD tray has a slight issue, upon opening the tray only stays open for 1 to 2 seconds before closing itself. Both belts replaced in the cd drives. Both cd players work great. Clean looking see pics. Display is dimmer than it should be but readable, see pic.

Was removed from a church installation. Tested good for play back both drives. Successfully dubbed a CD to the record deck. No other record functions were tested but presumed good. A few scuffs but no major physical issues - in overall good condition. Comes with power cable, no remote.

Unit has very dim display????. Cd drawers won’t open ( most likely belt). Didn’t get used much so all mechanicals are believed to be good as well as opticals
