An awesome sounding CD play that outperforms most and sounds great out the box. This unit has a coax and optical output for use with DAC but also has a great built in DAC which I think is a Phillips TDA1541 (but i havent opened this to verify). The unit has been in a smoking home (not mine, but previous owner) so if youre extra sensitive to cigarettes, it might not be for you, but if not then Im offering under market price. Small dent on top of unit. Please see photos for cosmetic condition, not perfect, hence the very reasonable price. It would look great in a rack unit to hide cosmetic wear to the top. Looks good head on. Works well; sounds great; audiophile sound quality with or without DAC.

Im selling an extremely clean, fully functional Marantz CD5000 compact disc player. It will play back CDs as well as CD-Rs and even CD-RW discs! If an inserted disk has CD-Text, it will be displayed on screen! The photos show playback of a retail purchased disc and this player shows you the title of each song of each respective track. It also has both a coaxial and optical output on the back. You also get the original remote control, the manual in English and French- shipped to you with the original box. Other familiar features include programmable and random track playback orders, and the ability to audition the first few bars of each track. Theres also a fade?in/out option that could be useful for compiling albums. A variable?level headphone output is provided for general listening or cueing and, unusually, theres an output level control on the remote controller that allows both analogue and digital level adjustment — this is immensely useful for compiling an album where you need to balance the levels of some of the tracks. Marantz is a well respected electronics company and I bought this specific player knowing that the manufacturers reputation meant I (now you) am getting an extremely high quality product. As you can see from the photos the player is extremely clean. This player has resided in a smoke-free home and it sounds magnificent. Do note there is a slight scuff on the center display that can be seen when the display is not lit. I only noticed it when looking at it very close up - and it was even difficult to photograph and it is not visible when the unit is on and the display is lit up. Otherwise its in excellent condition.
