This is for a Magnepan 30.7 system complete. I ordered this new and custom when I retired in 2018. The frames are powdercoated Ducati motorcycle red by Magnepan. The grille cloth is the off white more or less light gray they still do. System was set up by Wendell Diller of Magnepan in mid 2019. I auditioned a pair of these in Dallas, Texas, and ordered these the next day. I have been listening to planars and ribbons for many years. These were on my bucket list. Initially, I had ordrered the 20.7s but when I heard these, these blew them away.Trouble is, bad health ensued, and since owning these, I have been fighting a losing battle. I need to downsize and exit into care soon. This is not a fire sale, so no low ballers will be allowed. Far too many serious people interested. The retail on these is now double my price, and a long wait. I can tell you all in all honesty, this system is matchless in sound, especially at this price, even the retail price. Do you homework, plenty of info on the web on these.They are in perfect working order. They probably have about 25 listening hours. They are stunning, the best speakers I have owned in 40 years of very serious listening. No auditions, I warrant them to be in perfect order. These speakers have been setup once, in the current location, and have not been moved since. I have all original packing material for re-boxing for the new owner. Note: this the current model offered by Magnepan. The 3.7, 3.6 and other models of that type could be 10, 20 years old or more. This is the current new model, the 3.7i. These are the best speakers I’ve owned in my life. They are, literally, perfect. Not just cosmetically and functionally, but there’s nothing more I could desire from listening. In fact, after I bought these, I lamented that I had not purchased these decades earlier, so I could have had so many more year of listening enjoyment. With these speakers, a listening evening at home provided the same “experience payoff” of a night out on the town, meaning – my lovely companion and I would later discuss the evening spent listening the same way we would have to have gone to a concert or a meal at a 3-star restaurant. It made the evening so memorable, we’d reference it a full week later, and still comment about remarkable things we noticed during a particular song or passage. These speakers really are this good, and they have a wide-enough sound stage spread so there is not a single-chair listening “hot spot,” there was more than enough soundstage for two on the sofa. Close your eyes and you had a wall of sound, with instruments imaged so delicately and cleanly that you swear you’re in the studio, or in a live venue. Honestly, I have never heard anything like these. Why am I selling them? I am moving, and while I have a room acoustically perfect for these speakers, I am going to temporarily move in with an elderly relative, who has Alzheimer’s, to help her for a while. I can’t set the speakers up there, so I’ll need to store them, and I don’t want the worry (or expense) of a perfectly temperature-controlled and moisture-controlled storage facility. While I heartily encourage everyone to hear Magnepans, and even purchase them, I cannot demo these speakers for people who have never before heard Magnepans, and are simply curious. Serious buyers can audition them, as well as inspect, but please: no listening sessions born of curiosity (although again, if you can, find a pair elsewhere to listen to and fall in love). Also, you need lots of clean, high-current Class AB power to drive these speakers. That kind of power doesn’t make them loud, it makes them clean. I was using 450 watts @ 4 ohms. I do not recommend Class D amps to drive these, per the manufacturers recommendations. I can provide a list of recommended amplifiers, should the buyer request it.
