Up for auction is a set of Magnapan Typmpani IVa speakers.I am listing these for the widow of a friend that passed away.The speakers are cosmetically and sonically in excellent condition. They were one owner, used in a smoke free,pet free home, and when we found them, they were boxed up and being stored in a bedroom closet.When the speakers were used, the bass panels were never used. When I found the box, the packing strapping was still around the panels, they were factory sealed.I opened up one set just to try them and make sure they were ok.The only cosmetic flaw I could find was a small scratch on the backside of the wood frame (see pictures).I heard these speakers back in the70’s and fell in love with them then, and wish I had the room to use them in now, because the sound is amazing.Anyone that has read this far know about these speakers so I’m not going to bother with specification.The set is two (ea) high and mid panels, and 2 sets of bass panels, diaphragm protection magnets, cross overs(2), feet and mounting hardware (screws are not original).There are three large boxes that76” x 20” x 5” weighing over 100lbs each, and a fourth box with crossovers and feet. Magnapan 3.6R Dark Cherry. Right speaker needs to be repaired. Up for sale to someone who can refurbish one of the speaker shown in the photos. One side shorted out ie. Right side blown tweeter ribbon left side is in perfect working order. Speakers are sold as is and would prefer local pick up only due to weight and shipping cost. New these were 4500.00, Cosmetically they are excellent no tears or scratches at all. I have the original box and packing for speakers and cross-overs. Both speakers are packed up in the box. Great deal for the right person who can rebuild the one side.
