Verkaufe den klanglich besten DA-Wandler, den ich kenne (habe auch - Stand heute - keinen besseren gefunden, verkleinere nur die Anlage): Der orig. M-DAC - entwickelt von John Westlake. Den ESS SABRE Chip gibt es auch in anderen guten DA-Wandlern, aber hier wurde mit ganz viel Liebe & Aufwand entwickelt. Einfach mal einen Blick auf die Leiterplatte rund um den Chip werfen und mit anderen DACs (auch von Audiolab) vergleichen... ;-) Der DAC beinhaltet eine passive Vorstufe (Lautstärke über Fernbedienung regelbar), mehrere Filter-Einstellungen und einen Class-A-Kopfhörerverstärker. Macbook/PC kann direkt angeschlosssen werden und wird dann als Laufwerk erkannt. Ich selbst habe den DAC mit der integrierten Vorstufe an verschiedenen Class-A-Endstufen (Buscher, Hiraga, Sugden) betrieben und war mehr als zufrieden. Diese Kombi ist unschlagbar authentisch: Tolle Stimmenwiedergabe bei Jazz/Folk beherrscht er genausogut wie rabenschwarzen Tiefton bei Eine große Schwachstelle hat der M-DAC: Die Profitgier des Herstellers... Ein hervorragendes Gerät zu entwickeln und teuer zu verkaufen - dabei aber billigste LELON-Kondensatoren zu verbauen. Der M-DAC wird sehr warm (ClassA) und entsprechend schnell altern die Kondensatoren. So ziemlich JEDER unrevidierte M-DAC dürfte inzwischen davon betroffen sein. Also bitte aufpassen und keinen gebrauchten Schrott kaufen (die Foren berichten überall das selbe). Die Revision ist sehr aufwändig: Im Herbst 2022 wurden über 50 Kondensatoren gegen hochwertige Panasonic-Caps 105° getauscht. Diese Revision hat ihn klanglich WEIT nach vorn gebracht und Sie erwerben hier (wirklich) das Gerät, dass vor einigen Jahren so hoch rezensiert wurde und Kult-Status erlangte. Mit dabei: Das schwere, originale Netzteil und die Fernbedienung. Hier fehlt eine Nase beim Batteriedeckel, was ich mit einem kleinen Stück Klebeband fixiert habe. Audiolab M-DAC+ in silver, in excellent cosmetic and working condition with remote control and mains power cable. Used primarily with a CD player through the optical or Co-ax inputs, and occasionally with an ipad through the USB input, with the RCA outputs going to my amplifier, this unit dramatically improves the sound quality, whatever the source! There is a little discolouration to the back/top of the case, barely noticeable, and the tiny sprung dust cover from the optical 1 input has come off (a common issue, looking at other similar units for sale, and one which doesnt affect operation - the offending cover and spring are both included in a separate little bag if you want to try and refit them).
