Using his years of experience he took a blow dryer (really he did) and heated the chip and crystal that can be seen in the last picture, and the CD player started playing, there was sound. He demonstrated this for me. Unbelievable. The functions work, FF, REV, Pause, Repeat, etc. The remote control appears to be unused. It works fine, no issues detected. Once it was started it would play until he turned it off. Also if played and turned off and then back on it would play. When it would be turned off and sit, he had to use the hair dryer. Mcintosh MCD-7000 CD Player. I purchased at an estate sale along with other Mcintosh equipment. The original owner said he had the player worked on but it still doesnt work as it should. I found it plays the discs sometimes. These are the problems I noticed: Sometimes it reads the disc, most times it doesnt. When it does work it sounds great for the first two or three tracks then it either stalls or the sound is very distorted. Sometimes pressing the function buttons does not give the expected result. This unit will need to be thoroughly worked on or used for parts. The physical condition of the unit is excellent. On Sep-30-23 at 21:27:00 PDT, seller added the following information: No remote is included only the unit and the original owner manual.

Theres also some sort of which substance on the buttons (power, store, cancel, etc), but thatll clean up with a Q-Tip. When we first powered it up, the tray opened and closed perfectly. However, it did not read the CD. To complicate the matter, the tray will now not open at all. This unit is being sold as-is for parts or restoration. McIntosh MCD 7000 CD Player w/ Manual & Remote For Parts or Repair - Plays CDs. I spent $500+ on this unit in 2021 having it upgraded and repaired. It still sounds amazing as part of the work was upgrading the unit. Now, the CD drawer will not open on its own... you can open and close it manually and the remote doesnt seem to respond (maybe they are related). All worked well at one time. As I said, when the drawer is opened and closed manually, the disc loads and plays. Controls on the front work as they are supposed (save the load button). They case as seen in the photos is in very good physical condition. PLEASE BE AWARE THIS IS AN AS-IS SALE WITH NO REFUNDS. I have disclosed it is not in new, full operating condition and has been priced accordingly for parts or repair. It might be a minor fix. I will be glad to refer you to the gentleman who did the excellent work on it a couple years ago.
