Boston Acoustics VR and T series speakers are a tremendous vintage audio value. This pair of BA VR940 Lynnfield Tower Speakers are a 2 way design that place the drivers at ear level of the listener. The 1 VR tweeter is a technological marvel with its own extruded aluminum heatsink, an anodized aluminum dome, and a built in AMD processor. The 5.25 X 7.5 DCD (Deep Channel Design) extended excursion woofer is the first generation of DCD technology drivers that replaced the 6 woofer in previous models. BA used a proprietary injection molded process fusing ceramic and glass fibers to fabricate the woofer cones. The entire system is magnetically shielded with MagnaGuard shielding to eliminate video interference, and the System Specific crossover network has Bass Trac circuitry. These are in very nice cosmetic condition with minimal scratches and blemishes including the acrylic gloss black caps that tend to warp and crack if exposed to heat or direct sunlight. I am selling the matching center channel in a separate listing. Vintage audio equipment is sold as is with no warranties or returns. BOSTON ACOUSTICS VR-40 LYNNFIELD MONITOR AUDIOPHILE PAIR VR40 LOTS OF PICS. I now present to you a much sought after Boston VR Lynnfield monitor floor speaker. I purchased these several years ago because they were kept in a controlled environment and in very good shape structurally along with pristine sound. Personally, I have owned almost every Boston Acoustics VR (Video Monitor) speaker from floor to bookshelf. The VR40s were designed for music. Where as the Boston Acoustics VR35 are THX certified for film or cinema. In my opinion, the VR40s are the best full range speakers with a warm tone to them. I love listening to them. The cabinets are a little dinged up and the price reflects their condition. Any dings or scratches are located on the back or side/bottom of the speakers so you will not see them unless you were looking for them. I rate them a 6/10 for cosmetics. And 8/10 for speaker quality as the rubber surrounds on the speakers themselves are still very pliable and the tweeters are in perfect shape. If you are reading this auction you probably know what this is. But do your research and youll find how highly rated these pieces are. You will be hard-pressed to find a set of these speakers in this condition. Local pick up is encouraged and it is also advertised locally here in Orlando. If you do choose shipping, it will be well-packaged and insured. I included pictures of how the speakers will be packed: first, enclosed in Styrofoam sheeting placed in box. Secondly, placed in second box with lots of Styrofoam popcorn and then shipped to you. I have successfully done this before several times from Orlando to Seattle and LA.
