Maintained, strobe difficult, treated as junk I asked a maintenance company to perform maintenance on it, but the strobe was missing parts and could not be turned on. Turntable will come with REGA tonearm and with working cartridge. This model has a direct drive 20-pole 60-slot brushless DC servo motor. The platter is a cast aluminum and really heavy. The PD121 is designed to be as heavy as possible while taking into consideration not only the required inertial mass but also the resonance and strength of the motor bearings and parts. A bayonet mount type arm base is adopted for the arm base, and it is designed so that various arms can be replaced with one touch. The chassis uses an aluminum die-cast chassis of sufficient strength and weight, and the top panel uses a 3 mm anodized aluminum panel, which is held firmly in place with rubber and wooden frames for damping. A 3-layer structure insulator is used for the leg part. Luxman PD-121 direct drive turntable with SME tonearm mount. Cosmetics are fair to good, with some scratches visible. The front left dustcover has cracks that can be seen in pictures. Operates properly on 33.3 rpm. I observe the 45 speed does not lock in at a steady 45 RPM and tends to drift a bit. Price reflects shortcomings. Description: The PD264 is a disc player using a Brushless DC Servo Motor Direct-Drive system. Provided is a turntable platter of high inertia with which the large mass of platter weight is distributed around the outer contour, thus realizing excellent Wow & Flutter characteristics and stable rotation. For the tonearm, a straight type is adopted to eliminate resonance caused by lack of solidity which tends to be found on the tonearm exclusively designed for high-compliance type cartridges. The root portion of the tonearm is of double-pipe structure to strengthen anti-resonance measures.
