Description
FOR SALE: Elekit model 8340VK push-pull tube amplifier. These kits are somewhat rare and were produced in 2017-2018. The kit was ordered from VK Music (CA) and has these upgraded component options:Takman 2% 1/2w precision resistors throughoutMundorf Supreme EVO Silver/Gold coupling capacitors x8Lundahl output transformers with dual coil, single C-core typeThere are a few baby pictures of the early phases of construction of the amp, the completed main board, the Lundahl OPT wiring, and the finished unit just before its first power-up. No problems were encountered in building the kit (this is my fourth Elekit amp build) and as always with Elekits, the instructions, technical information, and schematics diagrams are excellent. All original documentation is included: kit assembly steps, full schematics, operational checks, troubleshooting, interconnection guide, errata sheet, and even some additional decals for the cabinet. Solid formed steel cabinet and perforated steel powder-coated black tube cover with two thumbscrews. The amp sounds fantastic and has good power output with a matched quad set of 4 Teslovak KT-88 tubes. Class AB mode gives excellent output power while still maintaining accurate phase and zero crossover. You can use this amp with less-efficient speakers and still fill the listening space at excellent volume levels. It has low hours on it (probably 80-100 hours total) and the tubes have minimal runtime yet have been settled in. This amp has been in a non-smoking environment and kept under a dust cover when not in use, and is very clean with no scratches or scuffs. This amp will also be shipped with the original matched quad of 4 Electro-Harmonix EL34 tubes, so youll have some EL34s to try rolling in. There are 4 Electro-Harmonix 12AT7 phase splitter tubes also included. All tubes will be un-socketed and packed separately to avoid damage. This amp features a microprocessor-controlled semi-automatic bias adjustment function, so when you roll tubes you can simply press a button to set safe base bias and re-calibrate tube bias voltages. Bias voltage values are stored in the microprocessor and will reactivate on power-up. This also allows easy recalibration as tubes age without having to crack it open and mess with bias pots or resistors.
