Cute little record player for the collector.Not sure if it works needs large batteries, some green on coils, and the foam/sponge on bottom and top of battery area just Disintegrated. Hey how does it go? Ill try to make this brief. I have tested this machine but first, Ill explain. I bought this because at first glance it looked immaculate. The body was really nice, everything was there. Was very happy to play and learn about this. I got it home and noticed someone (not very smart) left batteries in it. So I soldered on a new cable for the 9v, tested it, and noticed only some functions work, it would play sound but the wheels woud not turn. So then I thought, maybe it needs AA batteries for full function. I wire brushed the terminals and got them clear enough to accept AA batteries and function more. One of the terminals for the battery chipped a bit while cleaning but it still holds a battery. Anyways with the AA batteries, now I got the wheels to turn when it plays, but I could not figure out how to get the rewind function to work. When it did play the voice sounded slowed down, but it played. So Im basically selling this for parts, maybe it works maybe it doesnt, I think Im doing everything right. The body is in very good condition and the chrome microphone was really nice. The other black mic looked melted honestly, probably from battery acid. And the little earbud is in a sealed package but looks pretty aged. There is also another little tiny black cap floating around in the pictures, I thought that was for it, but that is actually the cap for my solder wire, whoops. Well thats about it. When I opened the battery compartment there were 4 corroded batteries. Now there is battery corrosion in the battery compartment and on the terminals. I have just decided him and the radio works just fine, the antenna is still intact not bent or anything like that, however the tape jack both of them make loud noises when you push play and the rollers don’t move so that’s an indicator that they need their belts replaced. One more thing to mention, it rattles if you shake it like there’s something loose inside. Sometimes children put Cheerios and small things inside of electronics.
