Linn Karik/Numerik CD Transport and D/A converter. The Karik needs repair, it may need a power supply. There were two different versions of power supplies used in the Karik - the original round Brilliant switch mode supply and the later rectangular Slimline Brilliant switch mode power supply. Some of our other previously manufactured products used the same round and or Slimline power supplies, such as models of the Kairn, Kremlin, Wakonda and Numerik during this production period. It is possible that a Linn retailer may have a damaged product that the power supply can be salvaged from, however, it is best that a Linn retailer inspects your Karik to confirm if indeed the power supply is causing the issue. Linn Axis - Great Unit With Linn Basik Plus Tonearms and Audio Technica AT VM95ML - Fully Recapped By Axis Specialist Steve Cobham As you might know, I normally specialise in LP12s, but I took this very nice Mk1 Axis in as a part exchange recently and after doing a good service, sending the power supply away for a recap - it’s now a very clean and great sounding deck. If you collect in person you can have a listen and everything will be set up and ‘ready to go’ - indeed, with just a few basic deconstructs to enable you to get it home safely, you’ll be in business when you get home inside 2 minutes. I make no apologies for choosing to not ‘post’ turntables. They regularly get damaged to some degree with standard couriers and it isn’t always easy for me to resolve issues at a distance. If distance / lack of transport puts collection completely out of the question, I do have a couple of contacts for ‘specialist’ couriers, who will for a price, collect the deck from me and deliver it straight to you - no hubs, no depots, no mistreatment - they are more expensive than parcelforce obviously, but I have used them very successfully to the complete satisfaction of all involved several times.
