The power supply is an original Linn Valhalla that has been thoroughly tested, completely cleaned and has a brand-new, fast-blow ceramic fuse installed. I always describe the items I offer as honestly and accurately as possible with plenty of clear and detailed photographs. In addition, I am very meticulous about packaging items for shipping. I use either genuine Linn packaging or quality sturdy packaging to ensure the item arrives in the condition it left me. I have completely dismantled this turntable and then either replaced or meticulously cleaned and reconditioned every component as it was rebuilt. Rest assured, I have rebuilt dozens of Linn Sondek LP12 turntables over the years with excellent results and every new owner has been very pleased - I only recently began selling them on eBay, however. Product Description: The plinth is an original Linn plinth constructed from Afromosia hardwood and has that classic Linn fluted finish. It is perfectly square and level, and presents in quite good condition. The top-plate is an original Linn one which has been carefully cleaned and reinstalled using brand-new washers and nyloc nuts. Overall, the top-plate is in good condition with some minor marks (see photos). The sub-chassis is an original Linn bonded model which has been thoroughly checked to ensure no warping, carefully cleaned, and re-fit to the plinth also using brand-new hardware. It has an excellent Linn pre-Cirkus bearing (which some say is more musical than later bearings). The bearing has been carefully cleaned and was found to be in superior condition. It comes with the matching Linn inner platter which is in good condition and a genuine Linn outer platter in similar condition. In addition, a genuine and brand-new Linn felt mat is included. The tonearm is a genuine Linn Basik LV X which easily passes the swing and bob tests confirming the horizontal and vertical bearings are in excellent shape. The head-shell presents in fine condition, the head-shell connection is secure, but the counterweight insert has some mild degradation/separation. It still is secure when attached, however, and can easily be adjusted and retain that adjustment. The tonearm cable is also an original Linn supplied one while the tonearm board is a genuine Linn model in very good condition. As for the mechanics, the springs and grommets are genuine Linn and brand-new while the motor is a genuine Linn model which has been completely cleaned, serviced, and lubricated to give years of trouble-free service. The mudguard washers and aerotight lock nuts have been replaced with brand-new and the ground wire (earth cable) is also a brand-new Linn one. I have supplied a brand-new Linn belt, and a vial of spare Linn oil is also provided for the bearing. The power supply is an original Linn Valhalla that has been thoroughly tested, completely cleaned and has a brand-new, fast-blow ceramic fuse installed. It supports 110v or 240v operation and will be set to 110v operation to function in North America unless 240v is requested. I have included a brand-new superior quality 16-gauge, 5-foot power (mains) cable with a North American 3-prong plug which can be swapped for a UK 3-prong plug if desired. The lid (dustcover) is a genuine Linn tinted/smoked one and, although not new, it is in good condition with some mild swirls and fine scratches (see photos) and comes complete with brand-new hinges. The base is an original Linn fiber baseboard and includes a set of brand-new superior vibration isolation feet. Setup and Instructions: To help if you are new to the world of Linn LP12s, I supply instruction to assist in set-up and, while the bearing will be lubricated with brand-new Linn oil and a vial of spare Linn oil will be provided, instructions will also be provided as to how the confirm the oil level prior to use. Prior to shipping it will have all adjustments made including setting the springs for that special Linn pistonic bounce and the motor speed will also set by using a KAB Speedstrobe quartz-locked strobe-light system (the gold standard). Linn Sondek LP12 Basik Plus K18 cartridge Valhalla Recent new springs etc. fitted earlier this year. Super Linn bounce. Bonded sub-chassis. I will consider splitting the combination if that interests you. Send me a message with details if so. The Valhalla board is working well and appears to be wholly original. The platter starts quickly and unaided, reaching 33.3 within a few seconds. A really nice original and classic afromosia fluted finish which has been well looked after. Ive cleaned and re-oiled the bearing which is in excellent order. Fitted the Linn Basik LVX Plus (great bearings, no notches) and Linn K18 cartridge which is in very good order, with a nice straight cantilever.I see so many bent ones on Ebay with sellers saying theyre in good condition! The classic Linn-Linn-Linn combination is working superbly and can be demonstrated by arrangement. Bring a record or two and listen to as many tacks as you need to (within reason). The lid has a few slight scratches (see pictures) but has no splits or cracks. The hinges work fine and more than adequately support the lid when open. Im hoping to locate a suitable bung for the armboard to blank the hole used for an Ittok arm rest. ** I have now found a suitable bung for the armboard as shown on the last picture, indicated by a red arrow ** As this is a collection only item, cash on collection only please.
