The LP12 has been fully serviced by Krescendo HiFi. This includes a full strip down, the three suspension bolts have been checked for exact vertical hanging using the Linn tool specifically for the purpose, the suspension grommets and springs have all been replaced with brand new ones from Linn, the suspension has been carefully set to the correct pistonic bounce, the tonearm has been fitted with the correct geometry using the Linn Kinky alignment tool, the turntable rotation speed has been precisely set to 33.3 rpm using a laser revolution counter and the lid has been polished although a few very small marks remain. The LP12 has been fitted with the awesome Linn Ekos MKII tonearm. This has been fitted with the stunning Linn Arkiv moving coil cartridge. The LP12 benefits from the external Linn Lingo power supply which provides a rock steady 33rpm and 45rpm at a touch of a switch from a quartz locked power supply. The Lingo is a significant sonic upgrade from the Valhalla or Majik power supply. The LP12 is in stunning condition with only slight marks to the lid, one small mark to the plinth and some very slight marks to the Lingo case. None of which really detract from the appearance. The deck will be all set for playing music and will only require basic putting back together from the box. We will provide full instructions how to do this and will provide full support. And we do mean FULL support. The buyer is welcome to phone us any time if they have questions. As a package they sound absolutely stunning. The LP12 comes in a Linn turntable double box with all the internal fittings to ensure safe transport. The Lingo will be shipped carefully in a custom made double walled box with Stratocell high impact packing sheets all round for superb protection. It will be fully insured anyway. Original Linn cable with RCA connector from the tonearm. The cartridge is a Linn Adikt but the stylus is bent. Otherwise, this is an excellent system to deliver high-quality music. The Trampolin baseboard has its front two footings replaced by metal spiks on metal discs. The total height is maintained the same with the other, original footing (see the last picture). Check out the video that shows the turntable in operation. Good physical condition with some wear and scratches due to use. The dustcover is crack-free, although it has the typical scratches on plastic. Sale includes the turntable and components shown in pictures only; no box, manual, or any other accessories. The Linn Sondek LP12 is perhaps the most widely reviewed turntable (and still production after 50 years) in the World. Almost every vinyl enthusiast knows it and is one of the most recognizable product in the hifi World. In its current offering, you could buy their starter LP12 - the Majik LP12 at $5,100 or their top of the line, Klimax LP12 at $31,000! Which incidentally looks like the LP12 we have for sale here at only $2,995! The turntable is a very well curated unit where its one and only previous owner ordered it (after much careful evaluation on the different options) with the Lingo external power supply, Ittok LV II tonearm and Shelter 301 MC cartridge. If you want the best Sondek LP12 from that era, this may be it. This is analog at its best for under $3,000. This LP12 will spin 33s unlike any other. If you want to understand what this recent resurgence in vinyl is all about, this is an affordable way to join the party. Put aside what you have been hearing from CDs, vinyl is all about unadulterated music. Cartridge is good but we always recommend replacing the cartridges or having one on standby since there is no way to accurately predict the hours on it. Output voltage is 0.4mV with a load impedance of 11 Ohm. What we have always loved about the LP12 is its simplicity in design. Its basically a very basic motor, a platter and an arm. Many audiophiles have gone on to mod the motor, the chassis etc to elevate its performance but for us, we love its original simplicity. Put the money on cartridges and you would be smiling from ear to ear. Cosmetically, the unit is in nice shape for its age. Some minor nicks/scuff marks from use but nothing major. Dust cover is in good shape but the previous owner lost the hinges because the turntable was placed in a book cabinet where there wasnt enough height allowance to flip the cover open so he would just slide it in when he needs to cover it.
