I use either genuine Linn packaging or quality, sturdy double-boxed packaging to ensure the item arrives in the condition it left me (and, while it does increase the size of the item which leads to higher shipping costs, it also ensures your new LP12 arrives safely). I am happy to ship to Canada and the entire USA while some select items are also offered to the UK. I have completely dismantled this turntable and then either replaced or meticulously cleaned and reconditioned every component as it was rebuilt. Rest assured, I have rebuilt dozens of Linn Sondek LP12 turntables over the years with excellent results and every new owner has been very pleased - I only recently began selling them on eBay, however. Product Description: PLINTH The plinth is a unique and superior quality after-market plinth that is constructed from carefully selected Oak and is corner braced, perfectly level, and in good condition. It does have a few marks (see photos). The top-plate is an original Linn one which has been carefully cleaned and reinstalled using brand-new washers and nyloc nuts. The sub-chassis is a genuine Linn spot-welded model which has been thoroughly checked to ensure no warping, carefully cleaned, and re-fit to the plinth using brand-new hardware. It has an excellent Linn pre-Cirkus bearing (which some say is more musical than later bearings). The bearing has been carefully cleaned and was found to be in superior condition. It comes with a genuine Linn inner platter and a Linn outer platter, both of which are in fair condition (see photos). In addition, a genuine and brand-new Linn felt mat is included. The tonearm is a genuine Linn Basik LV V which easily passes the swing and bob tests confirming the horizontal and vertical bearings are in great shape. The head-shell presents in fine condition and the head-shell connection is secure. The tonearm cable is also an original Linn supplied one while the tonearm board is a genuine Linn model in fair condition. As for the mechanics, the springs and grommets are genuine Linn and brand-new while the motor is a genuine Linn model which has been completely cleaned, tested, and lubricated to give years of trouble-free service. The mudguard washers and aerotight lock nuts have been replaced with brand-new and the ground wire (earth cable) is also a brand-new one. I have also supplied a brand-new Linn-compatible belt and a vial of genuine spare Linn oil is provided for the bearing. The power supply is an original Linn Valhalla that has been thoroughly tested, completely cleaned and has a brand-new, fast-blow ceramic fuse installed. It supports 110v or 240v operation and will be set to 110v operation to function in North America. I have included a brand-new superior quality and heavy-duty 16-gauge, 5-foot power (mains) cable with a North American 3-prong plug. The lid (dustcover) is genuine as supplied by Linn and, although not new, it is in fair condition with several small scratches and swirls and one small piece missing from the lower right front corner (see photos). The hinges, while genuine Linn, are older so are not strong enough to keep the lid open - but many feel the lid should be removed during playback for better sound anyway. The base is an original Linn fiber baseboard in fair condition which allows acces to the tonearm plug and includes a set of brand-new superior vibration isolation feet. Setup and Instructions: To help if you are new to the world of Linn LP12s, I supply instruction to assist in set-up and, while the bearing will be lubricated with brand-new Linn oil and a vial of spare Linn oil will be provided, instructions will also be provided as to how the confirm the oil level prior to use. Prior to shipping it will have all adjustments made including setting the springs for that special Linn pistonic bounce and the motor speed will also set by using a KAB Speedstrobe quartz-locked strobe-light system (the gold standard).
