LINN Kaber Aktiv Crossover Kit (LK100, cards also fit Klouts, and a few other Linn amplifiers like Majik-1), For sale is a Linn Kaber Aktiv kit, this includes the 6x Aktiv Cards, 3x LK100 mounting plates, 6x internal signal / power leads, and 18x plastic mounting pillars Very rare to find a complete kit. FULLY TESTED These items are all in very good condition. The Aktiv cards are all fully tested and working, all pillars are complete and not missing any locking tabs, cables are not heat damaged. The Aktiv cards will be shipped in appropriate Antistatic shipping materials. This kit is for LK100 amplifiers. The cards will also fit Linn Klout amplifiers, if you are lucky enough to have Linn Klout amplifiers. The Linn AV5140 are extraordinary speakers. Period. For the money, they have no equals at this price point. In fact, when Linn launched these speakers (in conjunction with their AV51 system), they were part of this complex setup that included Linns AV processor/preamp, multiple amps and a variety of AV series of speakers that make up a $27,000 package. If you had a chance to listen this system when they were auditioning at the hifi shows, you would have walked out of that room with your jaw dropping on the floor. It was such a surreal experience listening to music and watching a movie in that room. This pair you see here comes with the highly desirable and rare AKTIV Crossover Tune Box. Unlike the other configuration where AKTIV cards are installed in the LINN amps, with this ATIV Crossover Tune Box, you are free to choose any amplifier to drive these speakers. Which in our opinion is the much better setup/option since the performance of the speakers are elevated with better amps (not that the LINN amps are no good!) and higher power output and you can amp roll and try the speakers out with different amps. The AV5140 is a true three way speaker with an 8 woofer mounted on the rear. On the front sits the 4 midwoofer and 3/4 ceramic dome tweeter. Profile of the speaker is a narrow front (7) that expands towards the rear (9.25). Depth is 13 and height is 39 without the spikes. Collectively, the speaker has a frequency range of 30Hz to 20KHz with a nominal impedance of 4 ohm and a 90dB sensitivity. Minimum recommended power is 60W and we strongly recommend more if your budget allows because it made a whole lot of difference when driven at 60W versus 200W or more. Cosmetically, the speakers look good. Minor scuff marks and tiny nicks here and there but nothing major. We dont have the original boxes for the speakers so local pickup in the store ONLY! LINN Kaber Aktiv Crossover Kit (LK100), For sale is a Linn Kaber Aktiv kit, this includes the 6x Aktiv Cards, 3x LK100 mounting plates, 6x internal signal / power leads, and 18x plastic mounting pillars Very rare to find a complete kit. FULLY TESTED These items are all in very good condition. The Aktiv cards are all fully tested and working, all pillars are complete and not missing any locking tabs, cables are not heat damaged. The Aktiv cards will be shipped in appropriate Antistatic shipping materials. This kit is for LK100 amplifiers. The cards will also fit Linn Klout amplifiers, if you are lucky enough to have Linn Klout amplifiers. I can supply 6x Klout mounting pillars instead of the LK100 plates if required, please ask at checkout if you need Klout pillars instead Post is fully insured (Royal Mail Special Delivery). This is the sale of a Linn Kaber Aktiv Crossover for Linn Kaber Aktiv Loudspeakers Only. This is a UK sale only and because the unit is expensive and collectable it will be sent fully insuredso that is why the delivery charge is as high as it is. This unit is being sold as working when disconnected, so please be aware of that. In very good condition except for some minor scratches and blemishes. Please view and zoom onto photos highlighting this. It is assumed you will have the knowledge on how to connect this unit together with any Linn Amps and I hold no responsibility for damage caused by connecting these wrongly. The connections are clearly marked on the back of the unit. This sale is for the Linn Kaber Aktiv Crossover. It is the earlier model with the resistors pack to tailor the sound to your room, the resistor pack is included, if you do not know how to use these then I suggest you use the settings already installed in the system, then get the help of a Linn Dealer if required. This sale is only for the Linn Kaber Active Crossover there are no interconnects and no power cable included in the sale, however these are easily obtained, it is a standard IEC power socket and a three sets of Linn Black interconnects will be all that is required. The serial number for the Linn Unit can be seen in the pictures, I understand this was made around 1990, the Linn Forum may help to clarify any questions you may have. In the pictures of the internals of the unit you can see the type of transformer used, it is the regular transformer type, not the latest Dynamik or SMPS type.You can see on the circuit board where the resistors have been fitted for its current sound setting. If you have any electrical background then you will be able to use extra resistors to tailor the sound to your room and Kaber Loudspeakers. I have tried to show as many pictures as will show what is being sold and have also tried to describe the item as well as I can. The unit was working when disconnected from its active system. I am assuming that whoever buys this will have the knowledge on how to connect up an active system using this unit, if in doubt contact Linn, the Linn Forum or a dealer who can give you advice, albeit maybe at a charge, but I strongly recommend that you know how to connect this unit to amps for Kaber active speakers, you have been warned. I hold no responsibility for damage caused by these being connected wrongly, the connection markings are clearly shown on the back of the Linn Kaber Aktiv Crossover. This unit sits between the pre amp the power amplifiers, by splitting the bass, midrange and treble in the Linn Aktiv Crossover allowing you to use the three power amplifiers to directly drive the Linn Kaber Loudspeakers thus the speakers do not require crossovers in them, this is what the Linn Aktiv Crossover does.
