Here is a Placette Audio Passive Linestagein non-working conditon. This is a passive linestage. The volume level and channel switching is done with microcontroller that switches a series of relays. It was programmed to use a magnavox remote to change settings. This remote is included. It uses some very high end resistors. Vishay S-102. The microcontroller doesnt work so inputs and volume cannot be set. This thing could be re-engineered with a different control unit, potentially using an Arduino board. Hengdong Audio Science and Technology Company (Jungson) Model JA-3 Linestage Preamp For sale, we have a linestage preamp manufactured by the Hengdong Audio Science and Technology Company. The Model JA-3 preamp has three inputs, one balanced, and two unbalanced. The output terminals are balanced. Upon research, it appears that the Hengdong Audio and ScienceTechnology Company is the manufacturer of Jungson audio products. This appears to be an early model, and while it does not have the Jungson name on it, it does have the same Logo. We could not find any information on the web about this model, but the company is still in business, and is currently manufacturing some nice gear. We bought a collection of audio gear from an audiophile, and this unit was included. Having no experience with this brand, we did not think much of it. Upon further inspection, we found that the build quality was quite good. The case is solid and heavy, underneath we noticed the two transformers, and a very well laid out design. We were very pleased with how the unit sounds. All pots and switches were cleaned, and then treated with Deoxit F5 and D5 respectively. Physically the unit is in very good condition. There are a few scratches on the top cover toward the rear, and a small nick on the bottom left corner of the faceplate. The unit presents itself very well. We dont have the original box for this unit, but we take packaging and shipping seriously. We spare no expense and use heavy duty boxes, several inches of polyethylene foam on all sides of the unit, and use water activated, fiber reinforced tape on all seams. Bryston 0.4B Linestage Preamplifier Serviced For your consideration, we have a sweet sounding Bryston 0.4B Linestage Preamp. We serviced the unit, and it is in now in perfect working order. When we took in the preamp, there was an issue with a noisy relay. We replaced the relay, as well as the faulty caps in the power supply that caused the issue with the relay. All switches and pots were cleaned, and then treated with the appropriate Deoxit. All RCA terminals were cleaned, and then treated with Deoxit Gold G100L solution. This is an extremely clean sounding preamp, and we enjoyed it immensely in our house system. The build quality, as we find in all Bryston gear is top notch. Physically the preamp is in very good condition and presents itself extremely well. The faceplate, sides and back are in very good condition, and the top has some light scuffs and blemishes. This unit has the rackmount faceplate, and it appears to never have been mounted in a rack, as the holes on the ears of the faceplate are clean. We dont have the original box for this unit, but we take packaging and shipping seriously. We spare no expense and use heavy duty boxes, several inches of polyethylene foam on all sides of the unit.
