Leak Stereo 20 Champagne + Leak Varislope 2 Stereo. The Champagne version of ST20 is very rarely offered for sale. The set is fully serviced and technically fully in order. Sounds incredibly good. Stereo 20 is visually in good shape with some small marks, Varislope is in great visual shape. Stereo 20 has 4x Siemens EL84, Sovtek GZ34 and 3x RFT ECC83. Varislope has 4x Telefunken EF86. Stereo 20 has every capacitor (including the filter caps) and every resistor replaced. Russian PIO caps were used. RCA sockets aand banana sockets for the speaker cables have been replaced. Varislope is also recaped, but some original and good measuring parts were left. (Of course all PIO caps and electrolytic caps are replaced). Happy to answer any questions.

Leak Grey Stereo 20 Valve Power Amplifier. Built 30-07-64 . Much loved great sounding example and used weekly during my 15 yrs ownership - come and have a listen !!! Original circuit, restored and in regular weekly use Widely considered to be the sweetest sounding of their range and ready for immediate use. From the 1940s Harold Leak gained an international reputation for making excellent amplifiers and this is a fine example sympathetically restored, as per original circuit, by a man who actually spent 2 weeks working with the legend. This amplifier was purchased by me 15 years ago, Following the restoration its been in weekly use ever since and has recently had the two large blue capacitors replaced as they were 15 years old but still sounding okfitted by the same guy who carried out the initial restoration. But make no mistake with reasonably sensitive speakers.(Ive used them with KEF 104 abs, Castle Chesters, Ruark Crusader lls & PMC Twenty 24s ) , all driven by this amp. You get an amazing sound with clarity and warmth in abundance. High 125mV Sensitivity at 1M so will work well with a Passive Pre-amp and this is how its been used in my system. These amps hold their own with many modern valve amps and have a fabulous sound.. can be demoed . The current valves are all used but working and are ECC83 X3, EL84 X4 & GZ34rectifier. New mains socket & lead fitted - old type disintegrate eventually. This amplifier is220/230/240 compatible. Any questions let me know. Selling my Leak 20 stereo power amplifier in very clean cosmetic condition. The amplifier has been restored by the technician about 3 years ago and stayed on the shelf after the play test.

One fully restored and working Leak Stereo 20 valve amplifier.This amplifier has had all of the original components very neatly replaced with modern Kiwame carbon film resistors and audio quality polypropylene capacitors.The main power supply capacitors have been replaced with new F&T components, stripped of the plastic and resprayed with colour matched paint - it just looks so much better than blue, plastic coated, cans.The main chassis is in good cosmetic condition with no rust. It does have a few light chips and marks commensurate with age - left as is to preserve Leaks original logo and screen printing.For convenience speaker terminals are modern 4mm socket/binding post types.Have also fitted a mains switch. This amplifier works perfectly and sounds very natural with a fabulous mid-range that blows away many modern amps. Will be supplied with the valves that are in the photos. These are NOS (new old stock) Billington Gold GZ34, matched set of NOS Russian (military surplus) EL84s, three used but good Mullard ECC83s.Plus a 1.8 Meter power lead - standard 13 Amp UK plug to original Bulgin power plug. This is not the usual ebay offering, i.e. hasnt been used for decades and needs hundreds of pounds worth of servicing to ever work again.
