B&W LCR 600 This is a listing is for (2) B&W LCR 600 S3 speakers which can be used as left and right or as left and right surround. Since many people use on the these as a center, having this pair for left and right would make a very nice balanced set (this is what I did). This is an unusual opportunity to get a pair of these very fine and versatile B&W speakers as they are usually available one at a time. These speakers are the larger of the two B&W 600 LCR models in the 600 range and its greater volume and larger drivers make it more suitable to partner the larger models in the range DM603 S3 and DM604 S3 as a center speaker or to use as left and right speakers with LCR center. Note, dont confuse these with their smaller cousins, LCR 60 series. The design of these speakers is in the proven dipole configuration which, aside from the sound advantages of a dipole design, can be used in either horizontal (more usual in the center position) or vertical orientation ()or flipped upside), together with its magnetic shielding, makes it an extremely versatile speaker. This is especially relevant when considering the practical problems of successfully accommodating five speakers in a domestic home theatre installation. Most LCR systems will be used for enjoying movies. However, all B&W speakers have a long design heritage rooted in the high quality reproduction of music and the LCR models are no exception to this design philosophy. They are very well built and solid (at 28 pounds each!) They might be large for a bookshelf maybe, but work very nicely on a stand. They used the standard B&W 600 series drivers. Also, the tweeter domes are NOT dimpled. They have EXCELLENT sound and are in very nice condition, including the drivers, tweeter dome and and grill as can be seen from the photos. I do want to point out that in taking pictures that is difficult to accurately protray their black surfaces such that it can seem like they are dusty or such - they are solid black. When taking the pictures, I did notice a small 1/2 x 1/8 ding in the upper right rear corner of one of the speakers and is shown in picture #4. The ding would be hard to notice once installed, and very difficult to notice if you flip the speaker upside down, but I did want you to be aware of it prior to purchase. If you are not familiar with B&W speakers, the corners are very sharp and easily damaged just by handling them (I have seen this in the other B&W speakers that I have [I tend to be a fan of B&W speakers]). Other than that small ding the boxes are in great shape, in my opinion, and well taken care of (I just wanted to show the ding in the spirit of full disclosure.). I am selling because I just have two many speakers and these are too nice to sit around (I like buying speakers and being 78 years old, the tend to accumulate).
