This Lafayette LA-750 integrated amp has been reconditioned by a professional. Everything works as it should. New parts were installed as needed. All of the controls have been cleaned and lubed with Deoxit D5 and/or Deoxit Fader. It is in near perfect condition and extraordinarily clean inside and out. This is a very nice amp and Lafayette components fly under the radar. Its built like a tank. If someone wants it fine, if not, I enjoy swapping it out in my amp rotation. The ugly wood grain metal case has been sanded and painted with a textured black color to match the silver and black face for a truly beautiful look. There may be a minor flaw or two in the paint job, but its professionally done and looks very nice. Its heavy for its size, weighing 10 lbs. Its very compact and can fit just about anywhere, measuring 12 x 3.75 x 9.125. It has 4 inputs; Phono, Tuner, Aux, and Tape; plus it has 1 Tape output. The Phono selector has a ceramic and magnetic setting. The volume control provides individual adjustments to each channel. This is a very unique feature that is very useful if your speakers arent centered in the room. The manual is available online. Theres info online about companies that made components for Lafayette. Two names that keep coming up are Kenwood and Luxman, but I dont know who made this amp. My Kenwood KA-2002 has a very similar layout and WPC. This amp was made in 1970, before there were regulations about power output. Lafayette listed it as an exaggerated 100 WPC. The Hi-Fi Engine website lists it as 37.5 WPC, but realistically, its probably 12-15 WPC, which is plenty of power to drive a pair of efficient speakers. It can drive 4, 8, or 16 ohm speakers. This amp was also made before manufacturers eliminated the pop sound through the speakers when you turn it on. As long as you have the volume down its not an issue. I keep my amps turned on plugged in a power strip and use the power strip to turn them on and off to avoid the pop. Shipping will be a flat $30. It will be double boxed. Packing a stereo component correctly is very difficult and time consuming, plus shipping rates are crazy expensive. If shipping charges are significantly less Ill refund the difference.
