Diese beiden Chassis wurden in einem größeren Tiefmitteltonhorn in einer HiFi-Anlage eingesetzt, dementsprechend kaum belastet, wurden wenig betrieben und waren auch nicht dem Licht ausgesetzt. Deshalb ist dieses Paar nahezu neuwertig. Die Seriennummern sind 18000 und 18480, liegen also nahe beisammen. Die Paargleichheit sieht man auch an der Schwingspulenimpedanz von 6,1 Ohm. It was quick and easy to fit into the Champ cabinet as shown in the photo. It sounds great but unfortunately when I tried to put back the amplifier section the large can containing some caps (next to the output transformer) is slightly in the way of one of the four legs of the die cast speaker frame. Its possible to drill 4 additional holes so the speaker can be rotated, thus not touching the amplifier. Frame Legs are 2 tall. Leg outer circle 6.5. My repair man suggested removing the can. It contains several caps which can be transplanted elsewhere. The problem is that the repair man always has a long queue.I use my Champ almost permanently for recording hence it cannot be stuck in a service queue for weeks. Earlier Champs and some re-issues do have more space in the box, so it should fit them without any mods. The 8 oms impedance is no problem. Although having a higher impedance speaker allegedly lowers the volume, this speaker is definitely more efficient than the factory 4 ohm Jensen alnico speaker.

It was quick and easy to fit into the Champ cabinet as shown in the photo. It sounds great but unfortunately when I tried to put back the amplifier section the large can containing some caps (next to the output transformer) is slightly in the way of one of the four legs of the die cast speaker frame. Its possible to drill 4 additional holes so the speaker can be rotated, thus not touching the amplifier. Frame Legs are 2 tall. Leg outer circle 6.5. My repair man suggested removing the can. It contains several caps which can be transplanted elsewhere. The problem is that the repair man always has a long queue.I use my Champ almost permanently for recording hence it cannot be stuck in a service queue for weeks. Earlier Champs and some re-issues do have more space in the box, so it should fit them without any mods. The 8 oms impedance is no problem. Although having a higher impedance speaker allegedly lowers the volume, this speaker is definitely more efficient than the factory 4 ohm Jensen alnico speaker.
