Description
A King of Turntables The Kyocera PL-910 is an extremely rare turntable. Kyocera had only been in the Hi-Fi business for two years when they abruptly stopped producing analog equipment. Perhaps, only 50 of these turntables were ever built; no one seems to know the exact number produced. I’ve had it since new. This turntable was a joint venture between Kyocera and Micro Seiki. Kyocera, being a world leader in ceramics, produced the extremely high-tolerance ceramic bearing. They also produced the ceramic platter and ceramic compound resin, while Micro Seiki designed and crafted the table substructure and provided the motor and drive system. The ceramics used in the platter and bearing have a rigidity of approximately 5x that of aluminum and approximately 2x that of steel. Furthermore, the ball of the thrust bearing has a circularity consistent with .5 microns. I’m offering this turntable, which is one of three that I own. I will continue to keep and use the other two tables for my audio systems, which include the Fulton Premiere and Fulton J speaker systems. Service manual and instruction manual will be included. Of all the tables I’ve owned and listened to, none compare to the Kyocera PL-910. It presents a purity throughout the entire frequency range, from the highest piccolo and triangle to the lowest hall sounds of the best symphonic recordings. If you listen to or own good organ recordings, the sound of organ pipes in great cathedrals have the power and majesty of real live music, usually unobtainable with Hi-Fi systems. Your search for a near-perfect turntable ends here! There is a good review of the Kyocera PL-910 on YouTube by my friend, Brian. He owned two of these turntables and has sold the one pictured in this video. His channel name is spacecoastsun.
