This is an incredible sounding CD player as it sits. Or, just use it as a superb transport, and output it to your own external DAC. Legendary Sony laser, that is often employed in four figure cd players, or transports. Build quality is readily evident, in this heavy machine. Everything is working but… The loading tray is a bit lazy. Usually opens fully by itself, but sometimes I have to help it. Almost always, I have to give it a little nudge to close it all the way. Fully functional, and sounds amazing, but the loading tray issue demands this be listed as parts or repair. Cosmetics are very good, but not perfect. Please do see all the photos.
