The subwoofer works just fine but does have a hum when plugged in.. I bought this 3 months ago to fill in for my JL audio Fathom which was being serviced.. from the ad .. This looked in very good cosmetic condition and advertised as works great .. did not mention a hum.. the seller actually brought it to me because he had no way to demo it.. when he arrived.. popped open his trunk .. I saw a subwoofer with a good amount of scuffs and nicks .. he said he dropped it while loading it .. I knew I was not going to pay his asking price which was $600.. I knew I could make it look better by painting it.. plus It was going to be put in an area where it was hardly noticeable.. so we brought it in , hooked it up and heard the hum.. turned it off.. disconnected the coax and turned it back on and still heard the hum.. not real loud but certainly loud enough to hear it.. I decided to give it a try anyway and it definitely worked very well.. I was truly shocked by its performance.. I did not hear the hum when watching a movie. so I figured Id make an offer and have it repaired or just live with it .. I paid $385.. I just lived with the hum .. only turned it on for movies.. I did not want to sink more $ into a sub I wasnt going to have very long...I always use at least 4 subs for movies .. . Not trying to shake my house apart.. but I want to feel that sinking feeling...so I set my subs at 11 oclock. Anyone who is familiar with these amps, is well aware of their sound quality and reputation. I actually have a pair of MKI that I am currently using as my main amps, and despite their age, they are driving a pretty high end set of speakers (Focal Kanta No. 3), and the system sounds great. The subwoofer works just fine but does have a hum when plugged in.. I bought this 3 months ago to fill in for my JL audio Fathom which was being serviced.. from the ad .. This looked in very good cosmetic condition and advertised as works great .. did not mention a hum.. the seller actually brought it to me because he had no way to demo it.. when he arrived.. popped open his trunk .. I saw a subwoofer with a good amount of scuffs and nicks .. he said he dropped it while loading it .. I knew I was not going to pay his asking price which was $600.. I knew I could make it look better by painting it.. plus It was going to be put in an area where it was hardly noticeable.. so we brought it in , hooked it up and heard the hum.. turned it off.. disconnected the coax and turned it back on and still heard the hum.. not real loud but certainly loud enough to hear it.. I decided to give it a try anyway and it definitely worked very well.. I was truly shocked by its performance.. I did not hear the hum.. so I figured Id make an offer and have it repaired or just live with it .. I paid $385.. I got used to the hum that i heard before I put on a movie and once all speakers were powered up and didnt hear it anyway..so I decided to let it be..not to put anymore money imto it .
