This is one of those pieces thats been around the ShowHome so long its hard to remember just when it was first installed... What an incredibly well built and amazing sounding pre-amp! Forget about using any of the video circuitry and simply enjoy it for what it is... a Reference 5-channel or 2-channel preamp~ Hook it up to your favorite amplifier and sit back~ SACD discs and even standard Red Book CDs sound remarkable! When you build a piece as well as Krell, you can expect things to last and last...and last. Use the balanced outputs whenever possible and enjoy some the best imaging we have ever heard. I can’t believe this piece is 30 years old and counting (!) and still competes with components we recommend and set up today… Just incredible- For those of you too young or not familiar with the reputation of Krell equipment, let me just say that in its day, it was one of the most revered and coveted preamp/processors ever built. The fit and finish and the internal components were almost military in spec and it was our Reference Processor in Theater Room 1. It carried a MSRP of almost $10,000.00! By far the most expensive piece of gear we had ever bought and sold... The remote control feels like it was made out of a solid piece of aluminum billet (actually, it is!) and everything seems to work perfectly- I wish I had room somewhere to keep this piece warmed up and used, but it needs to go to a good custodian who will use and appreciate it as I have for all these years. Up for a No Reserve auction is a Krell Evolution Surround Sound Processor and Preamp. This was pulled from a working home theater. The unit is HDMI 1.3 compliant 1080P video with 3D capabilities. Software version is 2.4. There are some scratches on the top plate and a few on the sides which you can see in the photos. Original Remote is not included in the sale but you can control everything from the front panel. See photos for all the details.  Issues - During my testing, I discovered that all the HDMI ins and outs work perfectly as does the digital inputs and outputs. I was unable to test the CAST ins and outs and the Balanced ins and outs but I did discover the Left RCA analog output outputs very low signal which is why this is sold as is, for parts.  This unit originally listed for $30,000.00 and one sold on Audiogon back in January for $7500.00 but that unit had just been serviced by Krell. I am going to assume that you could send it to Krell for service. Nevertheless, the buyer assumes all responsibility knowing the left analog output (among other potential features) is not fully working.  Please ask any questions before purchasing, as I am happy to answer them.
