Krell KAV-250A Stereo Amplifier 250/500 WPC Into 8/4 Ohms. Can be reconfigured for bridged operation to quadruple the output to 1,000 watts to an 8-ohm load. I bought this unit as a demo from a high end store in San Diego in February 2001, and it has worked flawlessly since then. Its build quality and cosmetics are excellent.

KRELL KAV-500 Multichannel Amplifier This 5 channel Krell amplifier was first released in 1998 but is still sought by serious audiophiles who pay 4 digit eBay prices. It is rated at 100 watts per channel @8 ohms and 200 watts per channel @4 ohms. It can be configured with 2 to 5 channels @ 100 watts each. Adjacent channels can also be bridged to form 200 watt channels. MyKAV-500unit is preset for 3 channels. I’ve listed this unit at a low price in part because I’ve never used it. I’d purchased it 6 months ago from an ebay seller who rated it as in excellent condition. I intended to use it with a compatible3-channel preamplifier but now wish to abandon this plan. This KAV-500 comes with its original packaging, power cord and owners manual. I’ve also included a comprehensive product review. WARNING. The KAV 500 cannot be connected directly to digital disk players as the signals from these units are too weak to be effectively amplified by the KAV-500 without further preamplification.

KAV-250a/3 in excellent working condition. This amp was just professionally serviced (cleaned and bench tested). It was tested with a Clio audio analyzer for linearity, phase response, THDand IMD. My technician said it specd’ out better than Krells specs on their website. THD at 10W into 8 ohm load was under .018% on all 3 channels. Linear response was less than .5db from 20hz-20khz. He also said it had never had repairs done to it. I’ve had this in my setup for 5 years and I’m downsizing to a 5.1 system so it’s no longer needed. You could use this as a two channel amp if wanted or bridge two of the outputs for 1000 W/8ohms and still have a spare channel 250W/8ohms. Amp is very heavy, so shipping will be expensive, but it will be packed very well and will arrive to you in the same condition as pictured. I will insure it for the purchase price. Please do not bid on this amp if you don’t plan on keeping it. Absolutely no returns. All sales final.
