Krell KAV-3250 3 channel amplifier - black - used. May 2000 vintage. Part of a large Krell, Thiel system that we installed in early 2000. Due to age and downsizing, last year (2023) we took this system back from these clients and installed something smaller and more manageable for them at this stage in life. Good cosmetic condition except for an obvious scratch on the top cover (see pic). Includes AC cord, manual, and Krell packing materials. Packed unit is packed into outer box with additional packing materials for better protection in transit. Unit was serviced at Krell during February 2023. See invoice copy in pics. 250 WPC x 3 at 8 ohms. 500 WPC x 3 at 4 ohms. 1000 WPC 2 channels bridged. FYI: My profile states that I do not accept returns, which is true. The KRELL KAV-250p Preamplifier offers high-quality, analog signal processing. For inputs, it features a pair of XLR connectors, three pairs of RCA connectors, plus RCA connectors for tape monitor. Outputs include an XLR pair, a pair of RCA connectors, and a separate RCA connector for tape. The KAV-250p has excellent build quality and was manufactured in the United States between 1990-1999. I bought it as a demo from a high-end store in 2001. Until replacing it recently with a Michi P1, I happily used it for two-channel audio and home theater with a KRELL KAV-250a amp, Meridian G08 CD player, Aerial Acoustics 7B speakers and SW-12 subwoofer, and Transparent interconnects/cables. The Michi has a wide variety of inputs, but its sound is not clearly better than the KRELL. The KRELL box will include the power cord and instruction manual. The original remote control will be in the packing, too, although after some keys became non-responsive, I replaced it with an after-market unit, also in the box.

Up for bid is a non-working KrellKSA-250 amplifier that I am selling for a widowed friend. The unit lights up,but does not produce sound.I contacted both Krell and GeorgeMeyer Audio/Video (an authorized Krell repair center), and I was given ballpark estimates of repair to be between $1,200.-$1,800.00.The turnaround time at Krell was notprovided, but it sounded like it could be long wait.George Meyer Audio/Video on theother hand was three weeks to be looked at and fixed within five.Both those times were when Icalled a few months back.The amp is large and heavy. We didnot find the original box and packing, so I had a shipping crate custom builtfor the amp.It would be most cost effectivefor the buyer for me to ship directly to the repair facility of choice. Meyer is located in Los Angles andthe shipping cost via UPS freight is $571.61. Krell is in Orange CT. and theshipping there is $636.97 ($65.36 more). The buyer can determine where the ampis t be shipped, however the cost will be adjusted accordingly.Cosmetically (as can be seen inthe pictures), the are a scratches on the front panel pieces. I did not inquire if these could bereplaced. The rest of the unit is pretty much pristine. I would encourage any prospectivebuyer to call to verify the information provided information. Meyer answerscalls immediately. Krell on the otherhand was very slow. I left messages and emailed, and it was more than a monthbefore I heard back from them.If you do the math, with shippingcosts and repair, you could own a rebuilt Krell KSA-250 for around $3,500.00.
