This latest version of the iconic speaker sports a newly designed Tractrix® horn-loaded tweeter, along with gorgeous bookmatched, real-wood veneer finishes. The La Scala AL5 is fully horn-loaded, meaning that its 1 tweeter, 2 midrange, and 15 woofer all use Klipsch's famous horn-shaped cabinet openings. This design allows for exceptional sensitivity, low distortion, flat frequency response, and broad, well-controlled dispersion. This translates to unequaled power, detail, and dynamics — the hallmarks of the classic Klipsch sound. The AL5's high sensitivity also makes it a great choice for low- and medium-powered tube amps. The La Scala AL5 is designed and hand-built in Hope, Arkansas. It's available in several attractive book-matched wood veneer finishes, which provide a mirror image of each other. That's because each pair of La Scala AL5 is sourced from the same piece of timber, with the speakers precisely arranged to provide an aesthetically pleasing mirror image at the splice. The La Scala AL5 comes in two separate cabinets — one for the tweeter and midrange, and a separate enclosure for the bass driver. Premium materials make the fully assembled speaker quite heavy. Each La Scala AL5 weighs in at a whopping 201 pounds, so you may want to have a friend (or two) on-site to help you unbox and position them. (And now for my personal description) These speakers are incredibly crisp and efficient. Certain vocal tracks will literally tickle your eardrums in a euphoric way. You don’t need drugs when you have these speakers. I recently inherited these from my stepdad. We would often listen to them in his sprawling living room where we could sit 15-30 feet away. Now I have them in my tiny apartment and they just don’t make sense for me. They do have some blemishes here and there. Scuffs, scratches and the like. They are not perfect, hence the price, but they are truly a work of art. The blemishes aren’t noticeable from more than a few feet away. Also, they will look more like beauty marks once you hear the majesty and elegance of these behemoths. They have about 200-400 hours of use if I had to estimate. They are barely broken in. Obviously, based on the weight, these are only available for pickup. Also, I’ll throw in the preamp, amps, and speaker wires with the purchase of the speakers. That’s everything you’ll need to enjoy the perfect Klipsch experience!

Selling a set of LaScalas. The internals are all 1986 Klipsch components with the exception of the Crites Mid horn update (not the driver), and k33 drop in replacement woofers. The crossovers are 1986 Type AA with Crites Sonicaps. The cabs were rebuilt in the newer AL5 style whereas the bass bin is seperate. I am west of St Augustine Florida, I will not ship, c.o.d. only. I was attempting a lascala build but found a pair of them at a reasonable price so I’m no longer building a pair. NOTE - there is a color difference. This doesn’t impact the sound but it does impact the visuals.
