This matched set of Klipsch Forte 1 speakers are in excellent condition and for sale by original owner with smoke free home. The matching Serial Numbers in photos are 8844442 and 8844443. This set of Klipsch Forte 1 walnut wood speakers was in our bedroom and used for stereo. It has very minor wear on the bottom wood that can be touched up. This set was the third stereo system in our home and used only occasionally. The speakers were paired with a Marantz 2252b Receiver and a Luxman D-105u CD Player.  The speakers are high efficiency and can be driven beautifully with any amplifier rated at 100 W per channel or less. The Marantz 2252b was 35 W per channel and a great match with the speakers, leaving a lot of volume headroom.The speakers are very warm and  musical with a smooth bass response, a highly defined mid range and upper register, and a live presence, as if you are present at the performance. (See Klipsch Forte Brochure in Photos below). They are rare and special.  These Forte speakers were manufactured in Hope, Arkansas under the direction of Paul W. Klipsch.  HiFi classic review of this system is One of the best speakers ever made. Weight 56 lbs each, 35H x 17W x 12D. Additional review and technical comments by HiFi classic include:The Klipsch Forte 1 is a 3-way floor-standing speaker system that combines a vented direct-radiator woofer with horn-loaded compression drivers for the midrange and high frequencies. The 12-inch Klipsch-design woofer has a 9-pound magnet structure, and it's low-base output is augmented by a 12-inch passive rear radiator. The room response of the Klipsch Forte 1 was one of the widest and smoothest we have ever measured. The Forte's low-frequency distortion was by far the lowest we have ever measured from a speaker. The phase response of the Forte was good over the range of each of the high-frequency drivers. The Klipsch Forte 1 is so outstanding in a number of it's characteristics, and it sounded even better than it measured.  CD's were reproduced with startling impact. It is not easy to be dispassionate about the Klipsch Forte 1. It's distortions and sensitivity are so outstanding that comparison with most other speakers is impossible.
