This vintage 1978 Kenwood KX-630 has been in my family its entire life. It has been recently cleaned internally and it is all in working order. The tape belt needs to be replaced (around $20). We pressed down on the tape belt, and it played George Thoroughgood and the Destroyers with amazing sound! I will include the tape for your enjoyment. It is a stereo cassette deck featuring Dolby B noise reduction. Key attributes include its 2-head design, an analog 3-digit tape counter, and manual tape type selection supporting both normal and chrome tapes, along with additional manual equalization options. It employs a belt-driven single-capstan transport system and the tape eject mechanism is mechanical. The KX-630 uses analog needle VU meters for level readings and mechanical transport controls for reliable operation. The Dolby-B system effectively reduces tape hiss by up to 10 dB at high frequencies. For live recordings, the deck offers two microphone inputs with jack connectors.
