Item Description From the SellerDAT (Digital Audio Tape) was the first recordable Digital medium introduced in the late eighties and became common place for Recording Engineers in the recording studios from the late eighties through the mid-nineties as the predominant merging digital technology of the day just prior to the release of the Recordable Compact Disc. both the KDT-99R to include the SONY flagship head units where these highly coveted head units were introduced to the mobile environment by which recording engineers could listen to the MASTER take from the studios during the work day then relisten on the way home to hear firsthand the MIX in the mobile environment on the drive home. this was truly revolutionary for the day. should additional tweaking be called for, then this could be done the following day until the Recording Engineer ears were satisfied. this unit had the best in DIGITAL Audio design back in the day as it was released and a real BEAUTY to behold not to mention the dynamic sound ceiling it produced. I doubt you will be able to find another Factory Refurbed unit out there still working and more than likely NOT one in this excellent condition...
