Good Listening, SonnY :) The bass performance of the system is obtained by using a separate active (electronic) equalizer, the KUBE (KEF Universal Bass Equalizer), that boosts the bass drive signal by 5 to 6 dB below about 40 Hz while reducing the midrange drive signal in the 2,000-Hz region by about 5 dB. The KUBE Model 2088 supplied with the KEF 102 speakers is meant to be inserted in an amplifier or receiver tape-monitor loop or between a preamplifier and power amplifier. It has a set of tape input and output jacks and a monitor switch to replace those required for its connection to the amplifier. Pushing in the extend button of the KUBE inserts an additional bass boost that complements the speaker’s natural rolloff in the bass region and gives it a nearly flat response to 40 Hz. Another control, marked contour, shifts the level of the entire bass range (below about 200 Hz) up or down as much as 3 dB to balance the low-frequency sound against the midrange level. The contour circuit operates independently of the extend control.

KEF Kube Equalizer Model 200, last one made by KEF, for all KEFs that use Kube, Came with KEF Reference 107/2 late and 105/3, Controls cleaned, excellent condition. Lower 48 states only. I have one I am using on my 107s and the bass is so much deeper and stronger, I also dial the treble back a hair on the 107..When they introduced the 107/2 it came with a deluxe version called the Kube 200. The main difference being the 200 also allowed handy tailoring of treble and bass response. It also includes a separate set of outputs thats very nice to have. Another tap into your preamp out. Great for using to send your signal to a powered sub or a second system.Its my understanding that the 200 can be used for the entire reference series line up . I have used it for years with my 107s with great results. It works best on the super low bass, below 40hz, so if your speakers do not go that low the bass will not be as noticable. This gives subtle changes, not massive changes, it is for tailoring to your room.Owners manual is on line.They have wonderful build quality, reminds me of Nakamichi quality on their amps and preamps, or Mark LevinsonShipping is $20 to lower 48.

Used Kef Kube equalizer for model 102 speakers. Comes with AC cord and 2 RCA cords. It lights up when I plug it in, but I dont have the speakers to test it. I got it from a friends estate who was very careful with their gear, so I expect it works fine.
