This guy downsized about 5 years ago and moved into a condo. He put all his audio gear into storage, including these KEF 107s that he bought from us years ago. We hooked them up and tested them. There was an issue with the KUBE distorting. We had that repaired by a local qualified technician that weve been using to do all are service work since the 70s. Once the KUBE was fixed, we hooked them up again to Parasound HALO electronics. Sounded great. Just like they did when we first installed them in his home.Price is for the pair. Kef 107/1 Speakers Plus Kef Kube 107/2 BoxedThis is a pair of Kef 107/1 Speakers. I will try to detail the condition as they have been modified in someway but they are in full working order.Please note the description applied to both speakers.The wooden cabinets are in excellent condition . There is an extra pair of terminals near the originals and suspect that someone has tried to convert them to Kef 107/2. I have tried these inputs but nothing comes out of the speakers, so not sure if they are wired in. The bass Drivers have been refoamed. I have managed to take a photo of the top speaker showing this but the photos of inside one are dark, but I assure you they have been refoamed.I have taken a photo of the crossover the best I can with wiring. The top units are missing the covers and some work has obviously been done to them. I have managed to ease out the B110 Speakers and they are SP1029. The tweeters are sealed in place but I believe they are the T33 tweeters.The auction also included a Kef107/2 Equaliser, I presume this was purchased for a successfull upgrade to the kef107/2. This does not come with original power supply , but includes an equivilent power supply to make it work.These speakers do work, but as I dont know the full extent weather they have been through an upgrade which has or has not worked, I am selling this as sold as seen, no returns.The speakers include the orginal boxes. Strictly collection only. You will need a reasonalbe size car or an estate. The KUBE supplied with the 107 includes a speaker-specific equalization module that provides level equalization for the tweeter and mid driver, as well as an inverse of the 107s LF response. Furthermore, the KUBE allows the user to control several parameters not previously accessible. First, the LF cutoff is adjustable in four steps: 50, 35, 25, and 18Hz. Second, Q of the bass response is continuously variable from 0.3 (overdamped) to 0.7 (maximally flat). The Q parameter describes the sharpness of a speakers bass resonance. As the Q increases, bass damping decreases until ultimately a response peak develops. The Q parameter also correlates well with bass transient behavior, high-Q designs resulting in underdamped, boomy bass with a lot of overhang.
