I suspect, that somehow the cones were impacted and KEF determined that this was a cosmetic issue and not worth their time to replace the cones – so they sold it to me as a refurb. Works great however, I recently moved to a Sonos system and no longer have a need for this subwoofer. Unfortunately, when I was disconnecting the subwoofer, my hand slipped and my finger hit the cone of one of the woofers. There is no damage that effects the performance or sound however, there is a little indent that you can see in the picture. Please let me know if you have any questions
