If you are looking at this then you know KEF, one of the most respected speaker manufacturers in the UK. These Coda 70 speakers are the updated and improved version of their famous Coda 7. The cabinets are real black ash veneer and not a vinyl wrap and are in nearly perfect/mint condition. These are wonderful speakers and will fill a small to medium size room with a high 91 db sensitivity rating and max 109 db sound level. Bass extension is really low at 45 Hz at +/-3 db. These have the capability of being bi-amped if you so choose. While both speakers are functional, the tweeters are muted. They are not blown as sound comes from both of them. Although not sure, I suspect the ferrofluid has dried in my dry Arizona climate. The ferrofluid can be replaced but is not an easy task. Google tweeter ferrofluid magnetic fluid replacement. Fluid replacement kits can be found on both eBay and Amazon. So, while working but not up to their current potential, I have priced them as if they are parts only. With some TLC, these can be wonderful speakers again! Google the few reviews on these astonishing compact bookshelf speakers.
